The distinct characteristic of the iCaRe2 is its geographical coverage, with a significant percentage of small and rural hospitals and cancer centers. The iCaRe2 advances comprehensive studies of risk factors of cancer development and progression and enables the design of novel strategies for prevention, screening, early detection and personalized treatment of cancer. This phase III trial tests whether high-dose vitamin D works in treating androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT)-induced bone loss in patients with prostate cancer who are undergoing androgen-deprivation therapy. Vitamins are substances that the body needs to grow and develop normally. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. Calcium is one of the main building blocks of bone. A lack of vitamin D can lead to bone diseases such as osteoporosis or rickets. This trial may help researchers determine if high-dose vitamin D helps keep bones strong, lowers number of falls, and lessens fatigue in men getting androgen-deprivation therapy. Read Less

This phase 3 study will be conducted in different countries all over the world. The purpose of this study is to compare how well Rina-S works against platinum-resistant ovarian cancer compared to chemotherapy drugs that are already approved and used for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer. Treatment in this study could be Rina-S or it could be 1 of 4 indicated chemotherapy agents that are considered standard medical care. There is an equal (50:50) chance of getting Rina-S or an approved chemotherapy agent as treatment in this study. No one will know what treatment they are assigned to until the first dose.
