Type 1 Diabetes Clinical Trials in Louisville, KY

This investigator-initiated study will enroll about 30 adults 18 to 60 years of age with type 1 diabetes (T1D) who are using the Tandem t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ or Control-IQ+ technology ("Control-IQ" which will refer to either Control-IQ or Control-IQ+). The study is being done to find out if inhaled insulin given for a meal is safer and better to use than a bolus of insulin through your pump when you exercise following a meal. Stage 2 Type 1 Diabates (T1D) is an early stage of T1D characterized by dysglycemia but not yet leading to clinical symptoms. Progression of the disease to Stage 3 (clinical T1D), leads to overt hyperglycemia requiring eventually exogenous insulin. TZIELD® (teplizumab-mzwv) has been approved to delay onset of stage 3 T1D, by the United States (US) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for adults and children aged 8 years and older with Stage 2 T1D. The purpose of this study is to collect general information on patients with stage 2 T1D and further information on the long-term effects of TZIELD® in patients with Stage 2 T1D, treated as per standard of care. The Gastroparesis Registry 4 (GpR4) is an observational study of patients with symptoms of gastroparesis (Gp) and functional dyspepsia (FD) with either delayed or normal gastric emptying. To better understand these disorders, this registry will capture demographic, clinical, physiological, questionnaire, and patient outcome data to characterize the patients and their clinical course.
