A Study on the Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of an Investigational Drug in Participants with Severe Eosinophilic Asthma

The primary aim of this clinical trial is to study the potential effectiveness of an investigational drug in treating severe eosinophilic asthma, characterized by persistent symptoms and frequent flare-ups despite regular asthma medication. Secondary goals of this study include evaluating the safety and tolerability aspects of the investigational drug. To maintain objectivity, participants are randomly assigned into groups, receiving either the actual drug or a placebo. The outcome of this research will be instrumental in determining if the investigational drug stands as a possible treatment for those grappling with severe eosinophilic asthma. VR to Reduce Pain/Anxiety During Painful Procedures

This study aims to test the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) as a non-pharmaceutical intervention to reduce pain and anxiety in children undergoing painful procedures in Phlebotomy, Radiology, Infusion, Orthopedics, Gastroenterology, and Immunology, amongst others, at CHLA, as measured by self- and proxy-report. Examples of the painful procedures include IV sticks, cast removals, allergy testing, and anorectal manometries.
