Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative 4
Recruiting
Since its launch in 2004, the overarching aim of the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) Study has been to validate biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease (AD) clinical trials. ADNI4 continues the previously funded ADNI1, ADNI-GO, ADNI2, and ADNI3 studies that have combined public/private collaborations between academia and industry to determine the relationships between the clinical, cognitive, imaging, genetic and biochemical biomarker characteristics of the entire spectrum of AD.

Mindfulness for Cognition in Early-stage Alzheimer's Disease
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if mindfulness meditation can improve outcomes in older adults with and without cognitive impairment. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. How does mindfulness impact thinking and memory? 2. How does mindfulness influence brain function and structure? 3. How does mindfulness affect daily function and quality of life? Researchers will compare all outcomes to one other groups. In one group, individuals will participate in a mindfulness class in... Read More

Researching Efficient Approaches to Delirium Identification-Sustaining Effective Translation
Recruiting
The goal of this step-wedge trial is to test the implementation of daily nurse screening for delirium in routine care and its impact on outcomes and complications in hospitalized older adults admitted to 6 general medicine/surgery units at 3 hospitals in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer are: * 1. To test the fidelity, accuracy, and sustainability of implementing daily nurse screening for delirium using the UB-CAM in routine care. * 2. To evaluate the imp... Read More

A Pivotal Study of Sensory Stimulation in Alzheimer's Disease (Hope Study, CA-0011)
Recruiting
This is a randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled, adaptive-design pivotal study of sensory stimulation in subjects with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Up to approximately 600 subjects will be randomized to 12 months of daily treatment with either Active or Sham Sensory Stimulation Systems. Efficacy will be measured using the Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study- Activities of Daily Living (ADCS-ADL) assessment and a combined statistical test (CST) of the ADCS-ADL and the Mini-Mental S... Determinants of Incident Stroke Cognitive Outcomes and Vascular Effects on RecoverY
Recruiting
The overall goal of the DISCOVERY study is to better understand what factors contribute to changes in cognitive (i.e., thinking and memory) abilities in patients who experienced a stroke. The purpose of the study is to help doctors identify patients at risk for dementia (decline in memory, thinking and other mental abilities that significantly affects daily functioning) after their stroke so that future treatments may be developed to improve outcomes in stroke patients. For this study, a "stroke... Read More
