Clinical Research for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency–Associated Liver Disease
Recruiting
The Redwood Study is currently enrolling adults 18 to 75 years of age with Alpha-1
Liver Disease. The purpose of the study is to evaluate how safe and effective an
investigational study drug is compared to a placebo (both groups will receive
injections, but the placebo contains no active medication) in the treatment of liver
disease. If you or any of your family members have a confirmed or suspected
diagnosis of Alpha-1 Liver Disease, you may be eligible.

A Global Clinical Study Investigating the Safety and Effectiveness of Smith and Nephew's Porous Knee System in Patients Who Need a Total Knee Replacement Due to Degenerative Arthritis, Post-traumatic Arthritis or Inflammatory Arthritis
Recruiting
A clinical trial investigating the safety and effectiveness of Smith and Nephew's FDA-approved Porous Total Knee System, which is used to replace worn away and diseased knee joints. The aim of this study is to show that most patients who receive the Porous Total Knee System have reduced pain, greater mobility and a long-lasting implant post-surgery.

Nivolumab in Treating Patients With Autoimmune Disorders and Advanced, Metastatic, or Unresectable Cancer
Recruiting
This phase Ib trial studies the side effects of nivolumab and to see how well it works in treating patients with autoimmune disorders and cancer that has spread to other places in the body or cannot removed by surgery. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as nivolumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread.

A Study of Baricitinib in Participants With Rheumatoid Arthritis

Vagus Nerve Stimulation for Moderate to Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis
Recruiting
The RESET-RA study will assess the safety and efficacy of the SetPoint System (study device) for the treatment of adult patients with active, moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to biologic or targeted synthetic Disease-Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARDs). The study device contains a miniaturized stimulator (implant) that is surgically placed under general anesthesia on the vagus nerve through a small incision on the left side of the nec... Read More

Lipids, Inflammation, and CV Risk in RA
Recruiting
The objective of this study is to elucidate the relationship between inflammation and lipoprotein atherogenicity, and to determine the relative contribution of inflammation and lipids to CV risk in RA. The central hypothesis of this study is that inflammation and lipoprotein atherogenicity is tightly linked such that both factors are important to assess CV risk in RA. Further, the investigators hypothesize that this relationship is obscured by a consideration of routine lipids alone.

Proactive Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Based Adalimumab Therapy Optimization in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis
Recruiting
Current standard of care of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) management includes a routine clinical assessment of disease activity to adjust therapy. For the most part, therapy adjustment for therapy non-response and/or suboptimal therapy response leads to therapy switch within the same class of therapy or to a different class of therapy. The lack of objective data to titrate dose of a given therapeutic agent for maximal possible efficacy makes it difficult for providers and payors to titrate dose as n... Read More

Rheumatology-based Adaptive Intervention for Social Determinants and Health Equity
Recruiting
Social determinants of health (SDoH), defined by the World Health Organization as "the conditions in which people are born, grow, work, live and age and the wider set of forces and systems shaping the conditions of daily life" are estimated to be responsible for nearly 90 percent of a person's health outcomes. SDoH are key contributors to racial, ethnic and socioeconomic disparities in care healthcare access and health outcomes. The goal of this clinical trial is to identify patients with inflam... RA-PRO PRAGMATIC TRIAL
Recruiting
The 2021 ACR RA treatment guideline, based on widely acknowledged low to moderate quality evidence, recommends switching to a non-tumor necrosis factor (TNFi) biologic (choose among existing medications, currently, rituximab, abatacept, tocilizumab, or sarilumab) or a targeted synthetic DMARD arm (tsDMARD; choose among existing medications, currently, tofacitinib, baricitinib, upadacitinib) in patients with active RA despite the use of a TNFi-biologic. In practice, most patients receive another... Read More

People-Powered Medicine (PPM): Rheumatoid Arthritis Non-responders to Biologic Therapies (RANT)
Recruiting
The investigators are interested in enrolling patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who had a difficult time getting their disease under control even after trying multiple RA therapies. The investigators believe that there may be common patterns in the genes of this group of RA patients compared to those with more "textbook RA." Understanding genetic factors can help doctors to know in advance who may not respond to conventional therapies and start with treatments that work. Learning about und... Read More
