Biomarkers in Tumor Tissue Samples From Patients With Newly Diagnosed Neuroblastoma or Ganglioneuroblastoma
Recruiting
This research trial studies biomarkers in tumor tissue samples from patients with newly diagnosed neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma. Studying samples of tumor tissue from patients with cancer in the laboratory may help doctors identify and learn more about biomarkers related to cancer.

S1703 Serum Tumor Marker Directed Disease Monitoring in Patients With Hormone Receptor Positive Her2 Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This randomized research trial studies how well serum tumor marker directed disease monitoring works in monitoring patients with hormone receptor positive Her2 negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Using markers to prompt when scans should be ordered may be as good as the usual approach to monitoring disease.

Adapt2Quit - An Adaptive Motivational System for Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Smokers
Recruiting
The goal of this research is to test the Adapt2Quit computer program that uses participant input (message rating on how much the text motivational message might influence one to quit smoking) to select and text motivational messages that are more likely to help a user stop smoking. This Adapt2Quit system will be compared with a quitline facilitation-only control (text messages will be sent to facilitate quitline use). The primary research hypothesis is that the Adapt2Quit recommender-selected me... Read More

Validation of Early Prognostic Data for Recovery Outcome After Stroke for Future, Higher Yield Trials
Recruiting
VERIFY will validate biomarkers of upper extremity (UE) motor outcome in the acute ischemic stroke window for immediate use in clinical trials, and explore these biomarkers in acute intracerebral hemorrhage. VERIFY will create the first multicenter, large-scale, prospective dataset of clinical, transmagnetic stimulation (TMS), and MRI measures in the acute stroke time window.

COmbination Therapy With Baloxavir and Oseltamivir 1 for Hospitalized Patients With Influenza (The COMBO Trial 1)
Recruiting
This is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 2-like, investigator-directed trial of hospitalized patients with laboratory confirmed influenza. Eligible and consented patients will be randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to one of two groups: Group 1, the combination treatment group (oseltamivir and baloxavir); Group 2, the standard treatment group (oseltamivir and placebo).

A Study of the Efficacy and Safety of DMX-200 in Patients With FSGS Who Are Receiving an ARB
Recruiting
DMX-200 (repagermanium) is a C-C chemokine receptor type 2 (CCR2) inhibitor that, when administered concurrently with an ARB, is designed to inhibit recruitment of monocytes implicated in the inflammatory chemokine environment of chronic disease. The purpose of this pivotal randomized double-blind study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of DMX-200 120 mg twice daily (BID) compared with placebo over a treatment period of 104 weeks in adult patients with FSGS who are being treated with an... A Hybrid Effectiveness Implementation Study of Latino/a Alcohol and Drug Users
Recruiting
Alcohol use is a significant problem among Latinxs and immigration-related stress increases risk for substance use. A theoretically-based cultural adaptation of motivational interviewing (CAMI) that specifically integrated discussion of immigration-related stressors (e.g., stigma, social isolation) resulted in significant reductions in alcohol-related harms for those Latinx heavy drinkers with high discrimination compared to standard MI, and reduced anxiety and depressive symptoms one year later... Intrinsic Foot Muscle Strengthening Interventions for Older Adults
Recruiting
Falls are the leading cause of injury in adults over age 65. Muscle weakness in the foot can lead to foot and toe deformities such as collapsed arches or bunions, which have been found to contribute to falls in adults over age 65. The current research study aims to investigate the effectiveness of two simple and affordable foot strengthening methods that may make a major impact on balance and fall prevention in older adults.

Machine Learning Sepsis Alert Notification Using Clinical Data
Recruiting
Machine learning is a powerful method to create clinical decision support (CDS) tools, when training labels reflect the desired alert behavior. In our Phase I work for this project, we developed HindSight, an encoding software that was designed to examine discharged patients' electronic health records (EHRs), identify clinicians' sepsis treatment decisions and patient outcomes, and pass those labeled outcomes and treatment decisions to an online algorithm for retraining of our machine-learning-b...
