This study is open to adults aged 18 and older or above legal age who have systemic sclerosis. People can participate if they have a specific subtype called diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. People with another subtype called limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis can also participate if they are anti Scl-70 antibody positive. Systemic sclerosis is also called scleroderma. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called Avenciguat (BI 685509) helps people with scleroderma who have symptoms due to lung fibrosis or vascular problems. Participants are put into 2 groups by chance. One group takes Avenciguat (BI 685509) tablets 3 times a day and the other group takes placebo tablets 3 times a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 685509 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants take the tablets for at least 11 months. Afterwards, participants can continue to take the tablets until the last participant has completed the 11-months treatment period. This means that the time in the study and duration of treatment is different for each participant, depending on when they start the study. At the beginning of the study, participants visit the study site every 2 weeks. The time between the visits to the study site gets longer over the course of the study. After the 11-months treatment period, participants visit the study site every 3 months. During the study, participants regularly do lung function tests. The results are compared between the 2 groups to see whether the treatment works. The participants also regularly fill in questionnaires about their scleroderma symptoms. The goal of this observational study is to determine if nerve transfer surgeries improve upper extremity function and quality of life in patients with a high level cervical spinal cord injury. Participants will: undergo standard of care pre- and post-op testing and study exams complete pre- and post-questionnaires undergo standard of care nerve transfer surgeries follow-up with surgeon at 6/12/18/24/36 and potentially at 48 months attend therapy at local therapist for up to 2 years postop. This study is open to adults with moderate to severe hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called spesolimab helps people with HS. People who have previously taken specific medicines such as immunosuppressive biologics other than Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors cannot take part. This study has 2 parts. In Part 1, participants are divided into 4 groups of almost equal size. 3 groups get different doses of spesolimab, 1 group gets placebo. All participants get injections into a vein or under the skin. Placebo injections look like spesolimab injections, but do not contain any medicine. Every participant has an equal chance of being in each group. In the beginning, participants get the study medicine every week and later every 2 weeks. After 4 months, participants in the placebo group switch to spesolimab treatment. In Part 2, participants are divided into 2 groups. One group gets a suitable dose of spesolimab that was found in Part 1 of the study. The other group gets placebo. After 4 months, participants in the placebo group switch to spesolimab treatment. Participants join only one of the two parts. They are in the study for about 1 year. During this time, they visit the study site in the beginning every week and later every 2 weeks. Some of the visits can be done at the participant's home instead of the study site. The doctors regularly check participants' HS symptoms. In this study the investigators are proposing to evaluate the efficacy, sustainability, and mechanisms of 3 months of individualized counseling of the FRD delivered by registered dietitians, over 8 sessions by phone/video conferencing on fatigue, quality of life, and associated symptoms in persistently fatigued lymphoma cancer survivors compared to 3 months of individualized counseling of the attention control (matched for time and frequency of interactions with the FRD) the General Health Curriculum (GHC). The investigators will randomize and follow 68 lymphoma cancer survivors; accounting for a ~10% drop out rate to achieve a target of 60 patients that will complete the study. The investigators hypothesize that persistently fatigued lymphoma cancer survivors will experience improvements in fatigue, quality of life, and symptoms commonly associated with fatigue, which are then maintained at 15-months post-enrollment; and decreased CRP and alterations in inflammation-associated DNA methylation consistent with reduced inflammation from following the FRD as compared to the GHC. Treatment options that provide meaningful improvements in patient quality of like and long-term functional independence will provide a significant public health impact. Specific aim: Measure the efficacy of nerve transfer surgery in the treatment of patients with complete spinal cord injuries with no hand function.
