The purpose of this project is to examine brain function and performance during learning and memory tasks in adults. The study will compare measures of learning and memory across three groups of participants: those with an Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) that take buprenorphine for opioid replacement therapy, adults without an Opioid Use Disorder taking buprenorphine, and healthy adults that do not have an Opioid Use Disorder and are not taking buprenorphine. The distinct characteristic of the iCaRe2 is its geographical coverage, with a significant percentage of small and rural hospitals and cancer centers. The iCaRe2 advances comprehensive studies of risk factors of cancer development and progression and enables the design of novel strategies for prevention, screening, early detection and personalized treatment of cancer. This study will explore potential links between atopic dermatitis and food allergy. This information will be useful to determine atopic dermatitis and food allergy share unique biochemical or genetic identifiers useful for diagnosing and treatments in the future. This is a mechanistic study consisting of obtaining blood and skin samples from participants at baseline. Individuals may also undergo a clinically indicated oral food challenge and have blood and skin samples collected at various times during the oral food challenge. This study will create a molecular map of the pathology of atopic dermatitis and food allergy. This information will be deployed to evaluate the hypothesis that atopic dermatitis and food allergy share unique genetic transcriptional signals in which the study team can then further analyze pathological pathways and cell types. The purpose of this study is to better understand mental illness and will test the hypotheses that while viewing affective stimuli, patient groups will show increased blood oxygenation level dependent (BOLD) signal by fMRI after lorazepam. This study will enroll participants between the ages of 16 and 60, who have a psychotic illness (such as psychosis which includes conditions like schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and mood disorders). The study will also enroll eligible participants without any psychiatric illness, to compare their brains. The study will require participants to have 3-4 sessions over a few weeks. The initial assessments (may be over two visits) will include a diagnostic interview and several questionnaires (qols) to assess eligibility. Subsequently, there will will be two separate functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) sessions in which lorazepam or placebo will be given prior to the MRI. During the fMRI the participants will also be asked to answer questions. Additionally, the participants will have their blood drawn, women of child bearing potential will have a urine pregnancy test, vital signs taken, and asked to complete more qols. Read Less

This project is being conducted to evaluate the impact of explosive synchronization (ES) and its treatment with non-invasive brain stimulation in fibromyalgia (FM). The study design has three components, however, only 2 aims are enrolling participants. The first part (Aim1) is a cross sectional assessment of brain network explosive synchronization activity, connectivity, and response to pain in healthy controls and age and sex-matched fibromyalgia patients; the third part (Aim 3) is a longitudinal assessment of fibromyalgia patients undergoing one week of sham followed by high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS) of the motor cortex (M1) or one week of ES HD-tDCS of a brain region identified from computer modelling (Aim 2).
