This is a multiple site, randomized, double blinded parallel-group controlled study. The purpose of this study is to evaluate efficacy, safety, and tolerability of repeated, daily sessions with the STARSTIM device, which delivers transcranial cathodal direct current stimulation (tDCS). This trial is intended to study the safety and effectiveness of an new anti-epileptic drug (AED) on Primary Generalized Tonic-Clonic (PGTC) Seizures. Eligible Subjects, adults and adolescents, will continue to take their usual AEDs and receive either cenobamate or placebo. Sodium-Glucose Cotransporter-2 Inhibitors: A Potential Novel Treatment for Epilepsy

About 30% of persons with epilepsy have seizures that do not respond to drugs. The ketogenic diet is an effective treatment option for them, but this high fat diet is strict and difficult to maintain. The properties of gliflozins, which often are used to treat type 2 diabetes, make them a potential replacement for the ketogenic diet. This pilot study will determine whether gliflozins induce ketosis and could be used to treat adults with epilepsy safely.
