TARGET-IBD is a 5-year, longitudinal, observational study of adult and pediatric patients (age 2 and above) being managed for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in usual clinical practice. Chronic intestinal hypoxia and accompanying mucosal inflammation is a hallmark of ulcerative colitis (UC). Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) involves breathing 100% oxygen under increased atmospheric pressure to increase tissue oxygenation. Two small prospective randomized controlled trials have demonstrated that the delivery of HBOT to UC patients hospitalized for acute moderate to severe flares results in improved remission rates and avoidance of in-hospital progression to biologics, small molecules, or colectomy. The purpose of this study is to determine the safety, efficacy, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of etrasimod for the treatment of moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis in adolescents (≥ 12 years up to \< 18 years of age). Participants who will complete the total 52-week treatment period will have the opportunity to continue in a Long-Term Extension (LTE) Period of up to 4 years (5 years after study enrollment), or until marketing authorization is obtained in the participant's country, whichever comes first.
