This Phase 1 study evaluates whether the administration of an S-nitrosylation (SNO) agent during autologous red blood cell transfusion can improve tissue oxygenation. The study investigates if replenishing S-nitrosylated hemoglobin (SNO-Hb) levels in stored blood enhances its oxygen delivery capacity. Compensation will be provided.

Bipolar Study for Patients Aged 10 to 17
Recruiting
A new short-term study is enrolling children and teens (ages 10-17) with bipolar depression. To pre-qualify, participants must meet the following criteria:
- Male or female patients 10 to 17 years of age
- Have primary diagnosis of Bipolar I or Bipolar II Disorder
- Have a history of at least one manic or hypomanic episode
- Current major depressive episode is ≥ 4 weeks and less than 12 months in duration
- Male or female patients 10 to 17 years of age

Study to Assess Drowsiness, Cognition, Fall Risk After Metaxalone 640 mg and Metaxalone 800 mg
Recruiting
Every participant will receive Metaxalone in two (2) stages, one week after the other. A single dose of each Metaxalone dose will be taken one (1) time after a high fat meal which must be eaten within 30 minutes. Every participant will be given written tests to measure drowsiness, reaction time and thinking process and will also be asked to take walking tests to assess fall risk. Participation in this study will last approximately 2-4 weeks.
