Ulcerative Colitis Paid Clinical Trials in Ohio

The main aim of this study is to learn about the effect of treatment with vedolizumab IV (vedolizumab) together with tofacitinib in adults with moderate and severe ulcerative colitis (UC). Another aim is to learn about treatment with Vedolizumab alone after the double treatment. All participants will receive vedolizumab together with tofacitinib for 8 weeks and will be checked for response. Participants who show a response to the treatment after 8 weeks will be treated with vedolizumab alone for an additional 44 weeks. The ALPCO Calprotectin CLIA is an in vitro diagnostic test intended to quantitatively measure concentrations of fecal calprotectin in human stool samples. Calprotectin is a protein biomarker of mucosal inflammation. Measurement of calprotectin can aid in the diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), specifically Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC), as well as aid in the differentiation of IBD from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) when used in conjunction with other diagnostic testing and the total clinical picture. The main aim of this study is to learn how the body of a child or teenager with moderately to severely active ulcerative colitis (UC) or Crohn's disease (CD) processes vedolizumab (pharmacokinetics) given just under the skin subcutaneously (SC). ALTB-268-201 is a Phase 2a, multicenter, single arm, multiple-dose, open-label study evaluating the efficacy and safety of ALTB-268 in subjects with moderately to severely active UC. The study consists of a Screening Phase, an Induction Phase, and a Maintenance Phase. Eligible subjects will be enrolled to receive a SC loading dose of ALTB-268 followed by weekly doses of ALTB-268 for 12 weeks. Primary efficacy endpoint will be evaluated at week 12. Week 12 dosing will occur during the 40 wks Maintenance Phase. During 40 weeklong maintenance phase SC doses of ALTB-268 will be administered every other week. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) are chronic diseases of the gut comprising Crohn's Disease (CD) and Ulcerative Colitis (UC). The symptoms of IBD consist of diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, weight loss, fatigue and rectal bleeding. However, symptoms and treatment vary between patients. Early management of IBD can lead to better response rates and decrease the risk of irreversible bowel damage and future disease complications such as surgeries. Current clinical tools for diagnosis and or assessing progression of IBD are either invasive (colonoscopy), have low patient acceptance (fecal calprotectin) or low accuracy (C-reactive protein). The purpose of this study is to collect clinical data and samples (including blood, breath and stool) donated by patients with IBD and patients with no IBD (controls) to facilitate research that may result in the development of new non-invasive methods of diagnosing IBD and understand the progression of the disease over time in order to better manage IBD patients. The most clinically meaningful way to discover new targets of T cells in autoimmune diseases is to study the tissues of patients with active autoimmune disease mediated organ inflammation. These tissues contain both cytotoxic and helper T cells that are driving their disease, and these T cells are being guided by TCRs that recognize tissue-specific targets. By collecting tissue when a patient has active inflammation, it is possible to determine which T cells are activated and undergoing clonal expansion in the patient's diseased organ. TScan has developed a genome-wide, high-throughput technology to determine the natural, physiological target of any TCR (Kula, 2019). The goal of this study is to isolate T cells from inflamed tissues and matched blood samples and/or matched normal tissues (for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases). T cell clones that are expanded in diseased tissues relative to blood or normal tissues will be selected and the targets of their TCRs will be defined using TScan's genome-wide, high-throughput target ID technology. Randomized, placebo-controlled dose-ranging study of 2'-FL in IBD, Crohn's Disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). The overarching hypothesis is that 2'-FL supplementation in IBD will be safe and well tolerated, while increasing fecal Bifidobacterium abundance and butyrate in a dose dependent manner.
