Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Recruiting
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-approved, non-invasive form of brain stimulation for OCD. TMS has been shown to be an effective form of treatment in individuals with OCD. By using a form of TMS termed theta-burst stimulation (TBS), we hope that this will result in a more effective treatment by producing faster symptom reduction. We are trialing a novel form of accelerated TMS, where we will deliver ten 10-minute sessions per day, for 5 days. This study will compare the efficacy of TMS for OCD at two distinct brain regions. Participants will be randomized into one of two study groups, and receive stimulation at either the DMPFC or R-OFC. Both regions have been linked to OCD by research. Patients that don't respond to their study region will have the option to receive stimulation at the other region.

Vascular Lab Resource (VLR) Biorepository
Recruiting
This is a study of biomarkers obtained from prospectively collected subject samples and their correlation with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. The purpose of this initiative is to develop an enduring tool to allow for collaborative research between clinicians at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus and basic scientists at the Lerner Research Institute. This collaboration will allow resources to be available to clinical and basic researchers alike. This tool will enable research of vascular diseas... Read More

ATHN Transcends: A Natural History Study of Non-Neoplastic Hematologic Disorders
Recruiting
In parallel with the growth of American Thrombosis and Hemostasis Network's (ATHN) clinical studies, the number of new therapies for all congenital and acquired hematologic conditions, not just those for bleeding and clotting disorders, is increasing significantly. Some of the recently FDA-approved therapies for congenital and acquired hematologic conditions have yet to demonstrate long-term safety and effectiveness beyond the pivotal trials that led to their approval. In addition, results from... Read More

Extracellular Vesicle Micro RNA Profiling in Congenital Heart Disease: Fetal-Maternal Regulation in Neonatal Thrombosis
Recruiting
Newborns with congenital heart disease (CHD) are at increased risk of developing postpartum and postoperative blood clots after cardiac surgery. The molecular mechanisms that are responsible for the clotting profile predisposing children to blood clots in the early stages of life are currently not well described.
The goal of this proposal is to prospectively collect plasma samples from ten (10) neonates with antenatal diagnosis of severe congenital heart disease (CHD) to better understand mecha... Read More

Pharmacogenomics of Warfarin in Hispanics and Latinos
Recruiting
Warfarin is a commonly used blood thinner to treat and prevent blood clots. It is important to take the right dose of warfarin because too much can increase the risk of bleeding and too little can increase the risk of blood clots. This is why patients are closely monitored especially when they begin warfarin therapy. When clinicians prescribe warfarin, they have to consider different factors such as patient's age, body size, diet, and other medications that can interact with warfarin.

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Imaging of Thrombosis
Recruiting
The purpose of the study is to evaluate a new radiotracer called 64Cu-FBP8 for PET-MR imaging of thrombosis. The tracer has the potential of detecting thrombosis anywhere in the body, for instance in the left atrial appendage of patients with atrial fibrillation, and thereby may provide a non-invasive alternative to the current standard-of-care methods.

Quantification of Binding and Neutralizing Antibody Levels in COVID-19 Vaccinated Health Care Workers Over 1 Year
Recruiting
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic presents a great challenge to global health. The first case was identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, China and since has infected nearly 100 million people and claimed almost 2 million lives worldwide. In response, the medical community and scientists have worked hard to develop effective therapies and guidelines to treat a wide range of symptoms including the use of the antiviral drug remdesivir, convalescent plasma, ant...
