There are currently 35 active clinical trials seeking participants for Rectal Cancer research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Rectal Cancer participants are California, New York, Texas and Florida.
Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision for Rectal Cancer on Anal Physiology + Fecal Incontinence
Recruiting
Low Anterior Resection (LAR) surgery can be done using various techniques. The traditional technique for performing the surgery is through one or multiple incision(s) in the muscular wall of the abdomen. This will allow the surgeon to gain access to inside the belly (Abdominal cavity). The surgeon will start from above and go down until reaching the rectum located low in the pelvis. The surgeon will then cut out the rectum along with some of the tissue surrounding it and reconnect the bowel. An... Read More

Epacadostat (INCB024360) Added to Preoperative Chemoradiation in Patients With Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer
Recruiting
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate epacadostat when given with routine radiation therapy and chemotherapy (capecitabine and oxaliplatin) to treat rectal cancer before routine surgery is performed to remove the tumor.

A Study to Investigate the Safety, Pharmacokinetics, and Preliminary Effectiveness of GSK4418959 Alone or in Combination With Other Anti-cancer Agents in Participants With Solid Tumors
Recruiting
Solid tumours are abnormal lumps of tissue that can occur in different parts of the body. The tumours involved in this study have specific genetic characteristics that can make them more aggressive and challenging to treat. The study will test whether GSK4418959 alone or in combination with a PD-1 inhibitor agent can decrease tumor size, is safe, well-tolerated, and how amounts of the study drug decrease in the body over time.

High-Fermented Food Intervention Among Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer Patients (The FEED Trial)
Recruiting
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a dietary intervention (FEED-FF) that includes fermented foods (FF), among locally advanced rectal cancer patients and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, and to explore whether this diet can improve outcomes in rectal cancer patients receiving chemoradiation and NSCLC patients receiving immunotherapy.

Ultra-fractionated Radiotherapy for Rectal Cancer
Recruiting
The rationale of this clinical trial is to assess the feasibility of selective non-operative management for locally advanced rectal cancer using dose-escalated ultra-fractionated short course radiation therapy interdigitated with chemotherapy. We believe delivering short course radiotherapy over a prolonged interval, at escalated doses and with concurrent chemotherapy may be feasible and allow for improved clinical response.

Ultrasound and Photoacoustic Imaging of Colon and Rectal Tumor Tissue
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the functionality of a novel endorectal photoacoustic ultrasound imaging modality in humans with rectal cancer. The study involves testing a previously developed endorectal device to determine its ability to accurately assess rectal tumor response to preoperative treatment. The investigators hypothesize that in vivo photoacoustic imaging will be capable of differentiating residual malignant tissue from complete response.

Integrated Cancer Repository for Cancer Research
Recruiting
The iCaRe2 is a multi-institutional resource created and maintained by the Fred \& Pamela Buffett Cancer Center to collect and manage standardized, multi-dimensional, longitudinal data and biospecimens on consented adult cancer patients, high-risk individuals, and normal controls. The distinct characteristic of the iCaRe2 is its geographical coverage, with a significant percentage of small and rural hospitals and cancer centers. The iCaRe2 advances comprehensive studies of risk factors of cancer... Read More

Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy, Excision And Observation vs Chemoradiotherapy For Rectal Cancer
Recruiting
This study is being done to answer the following questions: Is the chance of rectal cancer responding the same if chemotherapy alone is given before limited surgery compared to chemotherapy and radiation therapy given together before limited surgery? If radiation therapy is not given, is quality of life better?

Recruiting
Background: A new cancer therapy involves taking white blood cells from a person, growing them in the lab, genetically modifying them, then giving them back to the person. This therapy is called gene transfer using anti-KRAS G12V mTCR cells. Objective: To see if anti-KRAS G12 V mTCR cells are safe and can shrink tumors. Eligibility: Adults at least 18 years old with cancer that has the KRAS G12V molecule on the surface of tumors. Design: In another protocol, participants will: Be screene... Read More
