Bevacizumab in Adults With Recurrent Respiratory Papillomatosis (RRP)
Recruiting
Background: Recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) is a rare disease that causes wart-like growths in the airways. These growths come back when removed; some people may need 2 or more surgeries per year to keep their airways clear. Better treatments are needed. Objective: To see if a drug called bevacizumab can reduce the number of surgeries needed in people with RRP. How OMT Benefits Newly Diagnosed Patients With Respiratory Illness When Given Alongside Other Standard Care.
Recruiting
This study is to see Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy, or OMT, can aid in treating patients being seen for respiratory illness and associated symptoms. The hypothesis is that the addition of OMT therapy, alongside other standard care (such as a medication), can help lessen patient symptoms sooner than just other treatment alone, and the duration of the condition will shorten as well.

Comparison of Nasopharyngeal Swab v. Nasopharyngeal Saline Wash or Saliva Collection in Testing for Respiratory Viruses
Recruiting
Respiratory tract infections (RTIs) are prevalence community diseases and is the third leading cause of death worldwide. Rapid diagnosis of RTIs is essential as it drives decision points such as treatment, disposition, and containment. According to recent CDC (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) updates, nasopharyngeal swabbing is the preferred method of specimen collection for most RTIs such as SARS-COV-2. This process is invasive and traumatizing for patients as it requires probing... Read More

Beetroot Juice NO Cold Study
Recruiting
Currently, there is a lack of evidence-based prevention strategies for respiratory infection and management of these conditions can be costly to the public. Airway nitric oxide provides a first line of defense against pathogens, and beetroot juice, a source of dietary nitrate, has been shown to elevate nitric oxide. The main objective of this project is to demonstrate that one week of supplementation with beetroot juice elevates airway nitric oxide during stressful periods in young adults and th... Read More
