Carboplatin Treatment Options in Arizona

This is a phase II clinical trial in patients with metastatic castration sensitive prostate cancer. The objective of the study is to determine the efficacy and further define the safety of the treatment combination. This study will evaluate dose levels of carboplatin AUC 4 with cabazitaxel 20 mg/m2. Patients will be treated with the combination of ADT and carboplatin and cabazitaxel for 6 cycles. After 6 cycles of chemotherapy, they will start abiraterone with ADT. The primary objective is to determine the percent of subjects that have no PSA or radiographic progression at 1 year. Secondary objectives will include determining the progression-free survival, time to PSA nadir and time to PSA progression of carboplatin and cabazitaxel in combination with ADT. Read Less

This is a study of ADI-PEG 20 (pegylated arginine deiminase), an arginine degrading enzyme versus placebo in patients with malignant pleural mesothelioma. Malignant pleural mesothelioma have been found to require arginine, an amino acid. Thus the hypothesis is that by restricting arginine with ADI-PEG 20, the malignant pleural mesothelioma cells will starve and die. Read Less

This randomized phase III trial studies how well radiation therapy, paclitaxel, and carboplatin with or without trastuzumab work in treating patients with esophageal cancer. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as trastuzumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. This is a Phase 1b/2, open label, multicenter, safety and clinical activity study of avelumab in combination with chemotherapy as first-line treatment of adult patients with locally advanced or metastatic solid tumors. Initially, avelumab will be evaluated in combination with pemetrexed and carboplatin in patients with advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) (Cohort A1) and in combination with gemcitabine and cisplatin in patients with cisplatin-eligible urothelial (bladder) cancer (UC) (Cohort A2). This is a Phase 2, Multi-Cohort, Open-Label, Multi-Center Study. Cohort 1 will be a single-arm study of intratumoral tavokinogene telseplasmid (TAVO) plus electroporation (EP) in combination with pembrolizumab therapy. Bevacizumab may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumor needs to grow. Cetuximab may also stop cancer cells from growing by binding and interfering with a protein on the surface of the tumor cell that is needed for tumor growth.
