Carboplatin Treatment Options in Florida

This phase II trial studies the best approach to combine chemotherapy and radiation therapy (RT) based on the patient's response to induction chemotherapy in patients with non-germinomatous germ cell tumors (NGGCT) that have not spread to other parts of the brain or body (localized). This study has 2 goals: 1) optimizing radiation for patients who respond well to induction chemotherapy to diminish spinal cord relapses, 2) utilizing higher dose chemotherapy followed by conventional RT in patients who did not respond to induction chemotherapy. Chemotherapy drugs, such as carboplatin, etoposide, ifosfamide, and thiotepa, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays or high-energy protons to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Studies have shown that patients with newly-diagnosed localized NGGCT, whose disease responds well to chemotherapy before receiving radiation therapy, are more likely to be free of the disease for a longer time than are patients for whom the chemotherapy does not efficiently eliminate or reduce the size of the tumor. The purpose of this study is to see how well the tumors respond to induction chemotherapy to decide what treatment to give next. Some patients will be given RT to the spine and a portion of the brain. Others will be given high dose chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant before RT to the whole brain and spine. Giving treatment based on the response to induction chemotherapy may lower the side effects of radiation in some patients and adjust the therapy to a more efficient one for other patients with localized NGGCT. Cancer is a condition where cells in a specific part of body grow and reproduce uncontrollably. The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of neoadjuvant carboplatin and mirvetuximab soravtansine in participants with folate receptor alpha (FRα) -expressing advanced-stage serous epithelial ovarian, fallopian tube or primary peritoneal cancer (EOC). Mirvetuximab Soravtansine (MIRV) is an investigational antibody drug conjugate designed to selectively kill cancer cells. The antibody (protein) part of MIRV targets tumors by delivering a cell-killing drug to cancer cells carrying a protein called folate receptor alpha (FRα). This is a single arm study in adult participants with advanced-stage Fédération Internationale de Gynécologie et d'Obstétrique (FIGO) III-IV FRα-expressing serous EOC. Around 140 participants will be enrolled in the study at approximately 80 sites in the United States. Participants will receive intravenous infusion of MIRV in combination with carboplatin on day 1 of each cycle, every 21 days for up to 6 - 9 Cycles. The total study duration will be approximately 3 years . There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. This study will evaluate the efficacy of tiragolumab plus atezolizumab and carboplatin and etoposide (CE) compared with placebo plus atezolizumab and CE in participants with chemotherapy-naive extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES-SCLC). Eligible participants will be stratified by Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Performance Status (0 vs. 1), LDH (\</= upper limit of normal \[ULN\] vs. \> ULN), and presence or history of brain metastasis (yes vs. no) and randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive one of the following treatment regimens during induction phase: * Arm A: Tiragolumab plus atezolizumab plus CE * Arm B: Placebo plus atezolizumab plus CE Following the induction phase, participants will continue maintenance therapy with either atezolizumab plus tiragolumab (Arm A) or atezolizumab plus placebo (Arm B). This is an unblinded, randomized clinical study comparing the efficacy of DNA damaging chemotherapy using carboplatin, to standard of care therapy for patients who have metastatic castrate resistant prostate cancer. This trial will use olaparib or carboplatin as initial therapy with crossover to the alternate or second-line drug after first progression for patients with tumors containing BARD1, BRCA1, BRCA2, BRIP1, CHEK1, FANCL, PALB2, RAD51B, RAD51C, RAD51D, or RAD54L inactivating mutations. Participants are randomized (1:1) and receive either carboplatin (AUC 5, IV) every 21 days, first or olaparib taken orally (300 mg), twice daily in 28 day cycles, until intolerance, complete response, or progression by Prostate Cancer Working Group 3 (PCWG3) criteria. Participants then crossover from the first-line therapy to the second-line therapy with the opposite study medication and receive treatment to intolerance or progression (whichever is first). Enrolled participants will be allowed to crossover to second line therapy if they continue to meet initial eligibility criteria, and at least three weeks have elapsed since last administration of either carboplatin or olaparib. The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of adding lazertinib to amivantamab, carboplatin, and pemetrexed (LACP/ACP-L dosing strategies) and amivantamab, carboplatin and pemetrexed (ACP) compared with carboplatin and pemetrexed (CP) in participants with locally advanced or metastatic epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) Exon 19del or Exon 21 L858R substitution non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after osimertinib failure. The purpose of the extension cohort is to further describe the safety and efficacy for the ACP-L dosing schedule versus ACP with additional data. The OnPrime study is a multi-center, randomized open-label phase 3 study evaluating the safety and efficacy of Olvi-Vec followed by platinum-doublet chemotherapy and bevacizumab compared to the Active Comparator Arm with Physician's Choice of chemotherapy and bevacizumab in women diagnosed with platinum-resistant/refractory ovarian cancer (includes fallopian tube cancer and primary peritoneal cancer). This Phase III trial builds on the efficacy and safety data reported in the previous Phase II VIRO-15 trial with promising objective response rate and progression-free survival observed in heavily pre-treated patients with platinum-resistant/refractory ovarian cancer. The phase II results also showed that the intra-peritoneal route of delivery was efficient in generating tumor cell killing and immune activation, and led to clinical reversal of platinum-resistance or refractoriness in this difficult-to-treat patient population. This phase III trial compares pembrolizumab with radiation therapy to pembrolizumab without radiation therapy (standard therapy) given after pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck that has spread from where it first started (primary site) to other places in the body (metastatic). Pembrolizumab is a type of immunotherapy that stimulates the body's immune system to fight cancer cells. Pembrolizumab targets and blocks a protein called PD-1 on the surface of certain immune cells called T-cells. Blocking PD-1 triggers the T-cells to find and kill cancer cells. Radiation therapy uses high-powered rays to kill cancer cells. Giving radiation with pembrolizumab may be more effective at treating patients with metastatic head and neck cancer than the standard therapy of giving pembrolizumab alone. Read Less
