Carboplatin Treatment Options in Kansas

This is a Phase 2, randomized, multicenter, double-blind study of the glutaminase inhibitor telaglenastat with standard-of-care pembrolizumab and chemotherapy versus placebo with standard-of-care pembrolizumab and chemotherapy for first line treatment of metastatic disease in patients with KEAP1/NRF2-mutated, stage IV, nonsquamous, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The study primary endpoints are PFS per RECIST v. 1.1 and safety. KEAP1/NRF2 mutation status (for eligibility) and STK11/LKB1 status (for stratification) will be determined by next generation sequencing. A commercial liquid biopsy (circulating tumor DNA) NGS test will be provided to study participants free of charge. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of pemigatinib plus pembrolizumab or pemigatinib alone versus the standard of care for participants with metastatic or unresectable urothelial carcinoma who are not eligible to receive cisplatin, are harboring FGFR3 mutation or rearrangement, and who have not received prior treatment. This randomized phase III trial compares two different high-dose chemotherapy regimens followed by a stem cell transplant in treating younger patients with high-risk neuroblastoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving combination chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Giving these treatments before a peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps kill any tumor cells that are in the body and helps make room in the patient?s bone marrow for new blood-forming cells (stem cells) to grow. After treatment, stem cells are collected from the patient's blood and stored. High-dose chemotherapy and radiation therapy is then given to prepare the bone marrow for the stem cell transplant. The stem cells are then returned to the patient to replace the blood-forming cells that were destroyed by the high- chemotherapy. It is not yet known which regimen of high-dose chemotherapy is more effective for patients with high-risk neuroblastoma undergoing a peripheral blood stem cell transplant. Read Less

This randomized phase II trial studies paclitaxel and carboplatin to see how well they work compared with bleomycin sulfate, etoposide phosphate, and cisplatin in treating patients with sex cord-ovarian stromal tumors that have spread to other places in the body and usually cannot be cured or controlled with treatment (advanced) or has returned (recurrent). Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating sex cord-ovarian stromal tumors. This randomized phase III trial studies bevacizumab and intravenous (given into a vein) chemotherapy to see how well they work compared with bevacizumab and intraperitoneal (given into the abdominal cavity) chemotherapy in treating patients with stage II-III ovarian epithelial cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread by blocking the growth of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth.
