The purpose of this research study is to : * Determine how effective cisplatin or carboplatin is in slowing the time it takes for ER negative (estrogen-receptor-negative), PR negative (progesterone receptor-negative), HER2 negative (human epidermal growth factor receptor 2) breast cancer to progress. Cisplatin and carboplatin are anti-cancer chemotherapy drugs that stop cancer cells from growing abnormally and is used to treat other cancers. * Evaluate a new biomarker to help determine which breast cancers are most likely to respond to cisplatin chemotherapy The hypothesis is that Triple Negative metastatic breast cancer may be particularly sensitive to platinum, and that a subgroup of those patients may have a marker in their tumors that predicts response. Background: - Paclitaxel and carboplatin are two standard drugs that stop cancer cells from reproducing. ABT-888 is an experimental cancer drug that may prevent cancer cells from "fixing" the damage done by chemotherapy drugs. This may make the chemotherapy work better. More tests are needed to determine the safety and effectiveness of ABT-888 plus chemotherapy. Researchers also want to find the best dose of ABT-888 for people who have kidney or liver problems in addition to cancer. Objectives: - To test the safety and effectiveness of ABT-888 plus carboplatin and paclitaxel in people who have both cancer and kidney or liver problems. Eligibility: * Individuals at least 18 years of age who have solid tumors that have not responded to standard treatment, and who also have kidney or liver problems. * A small group of people with solid tumors and normal kidney and liver function may also receive treatment for study comparison purposes. Design: * Participants will be screened with a medical history and physical exam. They will have blood and urine tests, tumor samples, tests of liver and kidney function, and imaging studies. Participants will also provide a hair sample at the start of the study. * Participants will take one dose of ABT-888 1 week before starting chemotherapy. The two chemotherapy drugs will be given on day 3 of a 21-day cycle. Participants will take ABT-888 daily for the first 7 days of each cycle. * They will keep a diary to record medication doses and any side effects. They will also have frequent blood tests and imaging studies. Participants will provide more hair samples on day 3 of cycle 1 before and after having paclitaxel. * Participants will continue treatment for up to 18 weeks as long as the cancer stops growing or shrinks and there are no serious side effects. Background: * Advanced cases of non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) usually are not successfully treated with standard therapies. Even treatments that attempt to specifically target NSCLC cells have not proved effective. * Researchers are interested in determining whether a combination of the chemotherapy drugs SS1 (dsFv) PE38, paclitaxel, carboplatin, and bevacizumab may be effective in shrinking the size of NSCLC tumors. Three of the drugs (paclitaxel, carboplatin, and bevacizumab) are commercially available, while the other is a drug that is currently being tested to determine its usefulness in cancer treatment. This study will help to determine if the combination of all four drugs is more effective and as safe, safer, or less safe than other drug combinations given to treat NSCLC. Objectives: - To determine a safe and tolerable dose for the combination of SS1 (dsFv) PE38 with paclitaxel, carboplatin, and bevacizumab in patients with advanced mesothelin-expressing lung adenocarcinoma. Eligibility: * Age \> 18 years of age * Newly diagnosed advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma * No prior chemotherapy for lung cancer * Individuals at least 18 years of age who have advanced non-small-cell lung carcinoma that has not responded to standard treatments. Design: * The study will last for two 21-day cycles of treatment for the four-drug combination, with additional treatment cycles of carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab. * Two to three weeks prior to the study, participants will be screened with a full medical history and physical exam, bone marrow biopsy (we do not do bone marrow biopsies) (if one has not been performed in the last 6 months), computed tomography (CT) or ultrasound scan, tumor measurements, and other tests as required by the researchers. Participants will provide blood and urine samples at this time as well. * During the study, participants will receive SS1 (dsFv) PE38, carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab for a maximum of two cycles. On Day 15 of the first cycle, participants will provide a blood sample to be tested to see if SS1 (dsFv) PE38 is being effective. If the tests show that SS1 (dsFv) PE38 is not effective, participants will not receive another dose of it, but will continue to receive paclitaxel, carboplatin, and bevacizumab for the second cycle. * After the first two cycles, participants will continue to receive carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab every 3 weeks for up t... This phase II trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and/or surgery work in treating patients with high-risk kidney tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving more than one drug (combination chemotherapy) may kill more tumor cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Giving combination chemotherapy together with radiation therapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Read Less

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Cetuximab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. It is not yet known whether giving cetuximab together with carboplatin is more effective than giving cetuximab alone in treating metastatic breast cancer. This multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial will evaluate the efficacy and safety of carboplatin/paclitaxel and carboplatin/paclitaxel/bevacizumab with and without pictilisib in particpants with previously untreated advanced or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Particpants will be randomized to receive 4 cycles of carboplatin (C)/paclitaxel (P) and either pictilisib or placebo, with (participants with non-squamous NSCLC) or without (participants with squamous NSCLC) bevacizumab (B). Anticipated time on study treatment is until disease progression or intolerable toxicity occurs. Participants in placebo arms with disease progression may cross over to open-label active pictilisib. This randomized phase III trial is studying glutathione to see how well it works in preventing peripheral neuropathy caused by paclitaxel and carboplatin in patients with ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, and/or primary peritoneal cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Chemoprotective drugs, such as glutathione, may help prevent peripheral neuropathy caused by paclitaxel and carboplatin. The purpose of this multi-center Phase II trial is to examine the impact of pemetrexed/carboplatin in the preoperative treatment of patients with select stage IB, II,and III non-squamous NSCLC. Because patients with non-squamous type NSCLC have been shown to have better survival rates than patients with squamous tumors when given pemetrexed with a platinum agent, only patients with non-squamous NSCLC (adenocarcinoma, large cell, and undifferentiated), not including squamous histology, will be allowed to participate in this study. If this novel regimen proves to be safe and active in this setting, it will provide rationale for further investigation in a larger, prospective, randomized trial. Read Less
