Carboplatin Treatment Options in Maryland

This study will enroll participants with urothelial cancer (UC). UC can include cancer of the bladder, kidney, or the tubes that carry pee through the body (ureter, urethra). This study will try to find out if the drugs disitamab vedotin with pembrolizumab works better than platinum-containing chemotherapy to treat patients with UC. This study will also test what side effects happen when participants take these drugs together. A side effect is anything a drug does to the body besides treating the disease. Participants in this study will have cancer that has spread through the body (metastatic) or spread near where it started (locally advanced). In this study, there are 2 different groups. Participants will be assigned to a group randomly. Participants in the disitamab vedotin arm will get the study drug disitamab vedotin once every two weeks and pembrolizumab once every 6 weeks. Participants in the standard of care arm will get gemcitabine once a week for 2 weeks with either cisplatin or carboplatin once every 3 weeks. Read Less

Researchers want to know if sacituzumab tirumotecan given alone or with pembrolizumab can treat triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). The main goal of this study is to learn if people treated with sacituzumab tirumotecan alone or with pembrolizumab live longer overall or without the cancer growing or spreading compared to people treated with chemotherapy. This partially randomized phase II/III trial studies how well, in combination with surgery, cisplatin and combination chemotherapy works in treating children and young adults with hepatoblastoma or hepatocellular carcinoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, doxorubicin, fluorouracil, vincristine sulfate, carboplatin, etoposide, irinotecan, sorafenib, gemcitabine and oxaliplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This phase III trial studies using risk factors in determining treatment for children with favorable tissue (histology) Wilms tumors (FHWT). Wilms Tumor is the most common type of kidney cancer in children, and FHWT is the most common subtype. Previous large clinical trials have established treatment plans that are likely to cure most children with FHWT, however some children still have their cancer come back (called relapse) and not all survive. Previous research has identified features of FHWT that are associated with higher or lower risks of relapse. The term "risk" refers to the chance of the cancer coming back after treatment. Using results of tumor histology tests, biology tests, and response to therapy may be able to improve treatment for children with FHWT. Read Less

Researchers are looking for new ways to treat types of breast cancer that are both: * High-risk, which means the cancer may have a higher chance of getting worse or coming back after treatment * Early-stage, which means the cancer is in the breast or the lymph nodes around the breast The 2 types of breast cancer in this study are triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and hormone receptor (HR)-low positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) negative breast cancer. These cancers have zero or a low amount of a protein called HER2 and other proteins that attach to the hormones estrogen or progesterone. Sacituzumab tirumotecan (also known as sac-TMT or MK-2870), the study medicine, is a type of targeted therapy. A targeted therapy is a treatment that works to control how specific types of cancer cells grow and spread. The main goals of this study are to learn if people who receive sac-TMT, pembrolizumab, and chemotherapy: * Have fewer cancer cells found in the tumors and lymph nodes removed during surgery compared to those who receive only pembrolizumab and chemotherapy * Live longer without the cancer growing, spreading, or coming back compared to people who receive only pembrolizumab with chemotherapy Read Less
