Carboplatin Treatment Options in Michigan

This phase III trial studies olaparib or cediranib maleate and olaparib to see how well they work compared with standard platinum-based chemotherapy in treating patients with platinum-sensitive ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer that has come back. Olaparib and cediranib maleate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Cediranib maleate may stop the growth of ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer by blocking the growth of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, paclitaxel, gemcitabine hydrochloride, and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This phase I/II partially randomized trial studies the side effects and best dose of veliparib when given together with radiation therapy, carboplatin, and paclitaxel and to see how well it works in treating patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Veliparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This phase II trial evaluates whether genetic testing in prostate cancer is helpful in deciding which study treatment patients are assigned. Patient cancer tissue samples are obtained from a previous surgery or biopsy procedure and tested for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) abnormalities or mutations in their cancer. Valemetostat tosylate is in a class of medications called EZH1/EZH2 inhibitors. It blocks proteins called EZH1 and EZH2, which may help slow or stop the spread of tumor cells. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of tumor cells. Cabazitaxel injection is in a class of medications called microtubule inhibitors. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of tumor cells. Abiraterone acetate blocks tissues from making androgens (male hormones), such as testosterone. This is a global, multicenter, randomized, open-label study, with an adaptive design. The main objective of the study is to measure the efficacy and safety of BT8009 (zelenectide pevedotin) as monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab in participants with locally advanced or metastatic urothelial cancer (UC). The study includes a dose selection phase followed by an adaptive design continuation. The study is comprised of 2 cohorts.
