Completed
This randomized, open-label study evaluated the safety and efficacy of atezolizumab (an engineered anti-programmed death-ligand 1 \[PD-L1\] antibody) in combination with carboplatin+paclitaxel with or without bevacizumab compared with treatment with carboplatin+paclitaxel+bevacizumab in chemotherapy-naïve participants with Stage IV non-squamous NSCLC. Participants were randomized in a 1:1:1 ratio to Arm A (Atezolizumab+Carboplatin+Paclitaxel), Arm B (Atezolizumab+Carboplatin+Paclitaxel+Bevacizum... Read More

Systemic Chemotherapy and Subtenon Carboplatin, and Local Ophthalmic Therapy in Children With Intraocular Retinoblastoma
Completed
Phase III trial to determine the effectiveness of combining systemic chemotherapy and subtenon carboplatin with ophthalmic therapy in treating children who have intraocular retinoblastoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vincristine, carboplatin, and etoposide, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether systemic chemotherapy and subtenon (under the conjunctiva of the eye) carboplatin combined with ophthalmic therapy is ef... Read More

Combination Chemotherapy and Surgery With or Without Isotretinoin in Treating Young Patients With Neuroblastoma
Completed
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, cyclophosphamide, etoposide, and doxorubicin hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Isotretinoin may help neuroblastoma cells become more like normal cells, and grow and spread more slowly. Giving combination chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and make it more likely that the tumor can be surgically removed. It is not yet... Read More

Locally Advanced NSCLC Hyperfractionated RT
Completed
This is a prospective phase II study designed to evaluate an accelerated and adaptive RT approach for locally-advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). All eligible subjects will have an interim PET-CT during radiation therapy to determine the metabolic complete response rate. Radiation therapy will be given in an accelerated fashion (2 Gy/fraction, 6 fractions/week) with concurrent chemotherapy. Interim responses will be assessed using PERCIST criteria.
Despite concurrent chemotherapy and r... Read More

Phase II Trial of Neoadjuvant Metronomic Chemotherapy in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer
Terminated
This neoadjuvant chemotherapy protocol focusing on "triple-negative" breast cancers alone will gather a foundation of primary tumor and axillary lymph nodal response to primary chemotherapy and ongoing correlated disease-free (DFS) and overall survival (OS) outcome data. This comparative data can then be used in building subsequent trials.

The purposes of this study are to determine:
The safety of enzastaurin plus pemetrexed with carboplatin, pemetrexed with carboplatin, or docetaxel with carboplatin and any side effects that might be associated with the combination of these drugs.
Whether the combination of enzastaurin plus pemetrexed and carboplatin or pemetrexed and carboplatin can help participants with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) live longer, compared with the combination of docetaxel and carboplatin.

Bevacizumab and Intravenous or Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Stage II-III Ovarian Epithelial Cancer, Fallopian Tube Cancer, or Primary Peritoneal Cancer
Completed
This randomized phase III trial studies bevacizumab and intravenous (given into a vein) chemotherapy to see how well they work compared with bevacizumab and intraperitoneal (given into the abdominal cavity) chemotherapy in treating patients with stage II-III ovarian epithelial cancer, fallopian tube cancer, or primary peritoneal cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread by blocking the growth of new blood vessels necessary for tum... Read More
