The investigators are testing subtenon carboplatin in combination with vincristine and topotecan given by vein in the hopes of finding a drug combination that may be effective against retinoblastoma that has come back (recurrent) or is resistant to other treatment (refractory). The goals of this study are: * To decide if the drug combination is a useful treatment for recurrent or refractory retinoblastoma * To test the safety of the drug combination and to see what kind of effects (good and bad) can be expected from the drug combination * To measure visual changes before and after the study therapy * To use a special MRI scan to measure brain function involved in vision processing, both before and after the study therapy In this study, the investigators are also testing a new experimental way of giving carboplatin "subtenon carboplatin". The carboplatin will be given directly in the eye through a needle placed under the covering of the eye. This is to try to get more carboplatin to the retinoblastoma inside the eye. Read Less

The purpose of this multi-center Phase II trial is to examine the impact of pemetrexed/carboplatin in the preoperative treatment of patients with select stage IB, II,and III non-squamous NSCLC. Because patients with non-squamous type NSCLC have been shown to have better survival rates than patients with squamous tumors when given pemetrexed with a platinum agent, only patients with non-squamous NSCLC (adenocarcinoma, large cell, and undifferentiated), not including squamous histology, will be allowed to participate in this study. If this novel regimen proves to be safe and active in this setting, it will provide rationale for further investigation in a larger, prospective, randomized trial. Read Less

This is a non-randomized Phase II study. Patients determined at initial diagnosis to have a carcinoma of unknown primary site (CUP) will have their treatment selected with the use of a molecular profiling assay. The assay will be performed on paraffin-embedded tumor tissue from a biopsy specimen. Patients given specific diagnoses (e.g., lung, pancreas, colon, breast, renal cell, prostate and ovarian cancer) will receive treatment regimens of proven activity. If no specific diagnosis is made with the molecular profiling assay, empiric chemotherapy with paclitaxel, carboplatin, bevacizumab and erlotinib will be administered. Read Less

This proposed trial will investigate the combination of amrubicin and carboplatin in the first-line treatment of patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer (ES- SCLC). Since myelosuppression is the most common toxicity produced by this drug combination, pegfilgrastim will be administered with each treatment cycle. To evaluate the overall survival (OS) of patients with advanced squamous cell lung cancer receiving the combination of gemcitabine/carboplatin either with or without Iniparib. Based on data generated by BiPar/Sanofi, it is concluded that iniparib does not possess characteristics typical of the PARP inhibitor class. The exact mechanism has not yet been fully elucidated, however based on experiments on tumor cells performed in the laboratory, iniparib is a novel investigational anti-cancer agent that induces gamma-H2AX (a marker of DNA damage) in tumor cell lines, induces cell cycle arrest in the G2/M phase in tumor cell lines, and potentiates the cell cycle effects of DNA damaging modalities in tumor cell lines.
