This phase II trial studies the side effects of giving intensity-modulated radiation therapy together with cisplatin and bevacizumab followed by carboplatin and cisplatin and to see how well they work in treating patients who have undergone surgery for high-risk endometrial cancer. Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, carboplatin, and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving intensity-modulated radiation therapy together with chemotherapy and bevacizumab after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. Read Less

This phase II trial studies how well carboplatin and paclitaxel with or without viral therapy works in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that has come back or has spread to other places in the body. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Viral therapy may be able to kill tumor cells without damaging normal cells. The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of intravenous weekly paclitaxel given with intravenous carboplatin and bevacizumab in patients with epithelial ovarian, primary peritoneal, or fallopian tube carcinoma that are to receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy (prior to surgical cytoreduction). Giving a chemotherapy drug before surgery may shrink the tumor so that it is no longer present by conventional imaging and tumor markers from serum and cerebrospinal fluid. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. Combining different types of therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This Phase II trial is studying how well neoadjuvant chemotherapy with or without surgery and with or without high dose chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation, can increase response rates prior to radiation therapy and increase progression free and overall surviving patients with newly diagnosed intracranial germ cell tumors. This randomized pilot phase II trial studies how well molecular phenotyping works in predicting response in patients with stage IB-III esophageal cancer who are receiving carboplatin and paclitaxel or oxaliplatin, leucovorin calcium, and fluorouracil. Studying the genes in a patients tumor cells before and after chemotherapy may help in understanding if there are specific features of the tumor cells that make a person more or less likely to respond to treatment and how these features may be affected by treatment. Giving carboplatin and paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation together with radiation therapy and erlotinib may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving carboplatin and paclitaxel albumin-stabilized nanoparticle formulation together with radiation therapy and erlotinib works in treating patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Pazopanib will be given with TAXOL in one part, in another part pazopanib will be given with TAXOL and PARAPLATIN, and in a third part pazopanib will be given with TAXOL and lapatinib (patients separated in each part). Toxicity monitoring will enable us to find the largest dose of pazopanib daily that can be safely given in combination with the chemotherapy agents TAXOL and PARAPLATIN, and with lapatinib, as well as what side effects are likely to manifest when these agents are given together and whether the combination of pazopanib with chemotherapy, helps to treat different types of cancer. Another objective is to find out how much pazopanib, TAXOL, PARAPLATIN and lapatinib are in the blood at specific times after the agents are given.
