This randomized phase III trial is studying two different combination chemotherapy regimens to compare how well they work in treating young patients with newly diagnosed supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumors or high-risk medulloblastoma when given before additional intense chemotherapy followed by peripheral blood stem cell rescue. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen is more effective when given before a peripheral stem cell transplant in treating supratentorial primitive neuroectodermal tumors or medulloblastoma. This is a phase 3, open-label, 4-cohort study (3 randomized cohorts and 1 single-arm cohort). Participants enrolled in each cohort will be treated as detailed below. Each study cohort will be analyzed separately. Treatment will continue for up to 2 years, or until the patient experiences confirmed progressive disease or unacceptable toxicity, withdraws consent, or if the investigator feels that it is no longer in the patient's best interest to continue treatment. This phase II Lung-MAP treatment trial tests whether carboplatin and pemetrexed with or without selpercatinib works to shrink tumors in patients with RET fusion-positive non-small cell lung cancer that is stage IV or has not responded to previous RET directed therapy. Chemotherapy drugs, such as carboplatin and pemetrexed, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Selpercatinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, carboplatin and capecitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as rituximab, ifosfamide, carboplatin, etoposide, and lenalidomide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of non-small cell lung cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Pemetrexed disodium may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving bevacizumab or pemetrexed disodium alone or in combination is more effective in treating non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying bevacizumab and pemetrexed disodium alone or in combination after induction therapy to see how well they work in treating patients with advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer.
