Cisplatin Treatment Options in Florida

This study will begin with a 30 participant lead-in part: these 30 participants will receive cetuximab manufactured by ImClone on a weekly basis in combination with other chemotherapy drugs \[cisplatin or carboplatin plus 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)\] administered every 3 weeks. After 18 weeks, participants who benefit from this treatment may continue to receive cetuximab once-weekly until progression of the disease, an unacceptable side effect occurs, participants withdraw consent, or the study is closed. In the second part of this study, 200 participants will be randomized in 2 arms: * 100 participants will receive commercial cetuximab manufactured by ImClone (Group A) * 100 participants will receive cetuximab manufactured by Boehringer Ingelheim (Group B). All these 200 participants will receive other chemotherapy drugs (cisplatin or carboplatin plus 5-FU) administered every 3 weeks. The purpose of this study is to determine if participants with Stage IV NSCLC have a better outcome when treated with IMC-1121B in combination with pemetrexed + carboplatin/cisplatin or gemcitabine + carboplatin/cisplatin than when treated with pemetrexed + carboplatin/cisplatin or gemcitabine + carboplatin/cisplatin alone. This randomized phase II trial studies how well erlotinib hydrochloride or crizotinib with chemoradiation therapy works in treating patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy x rays to kill tumor cells. Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, etoposide, paclitaxel, and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether giving erlotinib hydrochloride is more effective than crizotinib with chemoradiation therapy in treating patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Read Less

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin and tirapazamine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Internal radiation uses radioactive material placed directly into or near a tumor to kill tumor cells. Cisplatin and tirapazamine may make tumor cells more sensitive to radiation therapy. It is not yet known whether giving cisplatin together with radiation therapy is more effective with or without tirapazamine in treating cervical cancer. Read Less

This is a phase 1 trial designed to evaluate safety and tolerability of chemotherapy in combination with inotuzumab ozogamicin, an investigational product, in adults with CD22-positive non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The trial will involve two arms. In one arm, subjects will receive chemotherapy regimen R-CVP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine and prednisone). PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well intensity-modulated radiation therapy to the pelvis with or without chemotherapy works in treating patients with endometrial cancer or cervical cancer that has been removed by surgery.
