Cisplatin Treatment Options in Florida

This randomised, open label phase III trial will be performed in patients with adenocarcinoma of the lung with tumours harbouring an Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor activating mutation. This phase II trial is studying how well giving bevacizumab together with radiation therapy and cisplatin works in treating patients with previously untreated locally advanced cervical cancer. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of cervical cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. This phase II trial studies the side effects of giving intensity-modulated radiation therapy together with cisplatin and bevacizumab followed by carboplatin and cisplatin and to see how well they work in treating patients who have undergone surgery for high-risk endometrial cancer. Specialized radiation therapy that delivers a high dose of radiation directly to the tumor may kill more tumor cells and cause less damage to normal tissue. This open label Phase I study involves treating subjects with advanced cancer with Copanlisib in combination with either gemcitabine or cisplatin plus gemcitabine. RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vinorelbine, cisplatin, docetaxel, gemcitabine, and pemetrexed disodium, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Sometimes after surgery, the tumor may not need more treatment until it progresses. In this case, observation may be sufficient. It is not yet known whether chemotherapy is more effective than observation in treating patients who have undergone surgery for stage I non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying four chemotherapy regimens to see how well they work compared with observation in treating patients with early stage non-small cell lung cancer.
