Cyclophosphamide Treatment Options in New Jersey

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects, good and bad of a new drug called ixazomib (also called MLN9708), when it is given along with a common treatment combination, called Dose-Adjusted EPOCH-R (DA-EPOCH-R, for short). This is a type of study called a phase I/II trial. In the phase I part, the dose of the study drug (ixazomib) will be adjusted (either up or down) to find the maximum (highest) dose that does not cause excessive (too many) harmful side effects. In the phase II part, this dose of ixazomib will be given at the maximum safe dose found in phase I. In both phase I and II, DA-EPOCH-R will be adjusted between cycles depending on how blood cell levels are affected between cycles. Ixazomib is considered investigational because it is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). DA-EPOCH-R is a combination chemotherapy treatment developed over the last 14-15 years, and each of the drugs in this regimen is FDA-approved and considered part of the standard of care. Read Less

We propose to evaluate ixabepilone in combination with cyclophosphamide for the neoadjuvant treatment of locally advanced breast cancer. In this regimen, ixabepilone is substituted for docetaxel, since preclinical and clinical studies suggest that ixabepilone is more active than either docetaxel or paclitaxel. The combination of ixabepilone and cyclophosphamide could further improve the efficacy of non-anthracycline neoadjuvant therapy. Read Less

This phase III trial is studying how well combination chemotherapy and radiation therapy work in treating patients with newly diagnosed low-risk rhabdomyosarcoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as vincristine, dactinomycin, and cyclophosphamide, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining chemotherapy with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Others interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy also work in different ways to kill more cancer cells or stop them from growing. It is not yet known whether rituximab is more effective with combination chemotherapy or bendamustine hydrochloride in treating patients with mantle cell lymphoma undergoing peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial studies how well giving rituximab together with combination chemotherapy or bendamustine hydrochloride followed by consolidation chemotherapy and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation works in treating older patients with previously untreated mantle cell lymphoma. The purpose of the current study is to continue to optimize conditioning regimens in high-risk patients with severe aplastic anemia transplanted with marrow from HLA-compatible unrelated donors. NSABP FB-9 is a Phase II, multi-center, randomized study of eribulin or weekly paclitaxel followed by doxorubicin and cyclophosphamide (AC) as neoadjuvant therapy for women with HER2-negative, operable and locally advanced breast cancer (stage IIb and III). Patients in the control arm will receive neoadjuvant weekly paclitaxel (WP) followed by AC. The primary aim of the study is to determine the pathologic complete response (ypCR) in breast and axillary lymph nodes following completion of neoadjuvant therapy. The secondary aims include determination of the ypCR in axillary nodes, clinical complete response (ycCR) rate after eribulin or paclitaxel and after completion of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, two-year recurrence-free interval, two-year overall survival, and toxicity of the neoadjuvant regimens.
