Gossypol Acetic Acid With Lenalidomide and Dexamethasone in Treating Patients With Relapsed Symptomatic Multiple Myeloma
Completed
This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of R-(-)-gossypol acetic acid when given together with lenalidomide and dexamethasone and to see how well it works in treating patients with multiple myeloma, also known as plasma cell myeloma, that has come back after a period of improvement or has gotten worse after treatment. R-(-)-gossypol acetic acid may stop the growth of cancer cells by recognizing certain proteins and stimulating programmed cell death. Lenalidomide may stimulate o... Read More

Weekly 70 mg/m2 Carfilzomib for Multiple Myeloma Patients Refractory to 27 mg/m2 Carfilzomib
Terminated
The purpose of this Phase II study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness (good and bad effects) of carfilzomib given as a 30-minute infusion and at a dose of 70 mg/m2 to treat patients with multiple myeloma (MM), who are currently showing progressive disease (worsening) and had progressed (did not respond to treatment) within 8 weeks of receiving treatment with twice weekly 27mg/m2 of carfilzomib. Carfilzomib is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be used only in cer... Read More

Ixazomib as a Replacement for Carfilzomib and Bortezomib for Multiple Myeloma Patients
Completed
The goal of this clinical research study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness (good and bad effects) of ixazomib given as part of a combination therapy to treat subjects with relapsed (subjects whose disease came back) or refractory (subjects whose disease did not respond to past treatment) multiple myeloma. More specifically, the study is focused on subjects who were previously treated with bortezomib (Velcade®) or carfilzomib (Kyprolis®) and showed worsening of their myeloma while recei... Read More

Perivenous Dexamethasone Therapy: Examining Reduction of Inflammation After Thrombus Removal to Yield Benefit in Subacute and Chronic Iliofemoral DVT
Recruiting
This is a study of a medical procedure that utilizes a commercially available catheter (the Bullfrog® Micro-Infusion Device) to locally deliver a commercially available anti-inflammatory drug (dexamethasone sodium phosphate injection) around the deep veins after DVT recanalization, where DVT symptoms were present for at least 14 days and no more than 60 days prior to recanalization. The goal of the study is to see if local anti-inflammation helps prevent re-thrombosis of the blood vessel and imp... Read More

Universal Granulocyte Macrophage-colony Stimulating Factor (GM-CSF)-Producing and GM.CD40L for Autologous Tumor Vaccine in Mantle Cell Lymphoma
Completed
RATIONALE: Vaccines made from gene-modified cells and a person's cancer cells may make the body build an effective immune response to kill cancer cells. Interleukin-2 (IL-2) may stimulate the white blood cells to kill cancer cells. Giving booster vaccinations may make a stronger immune response and prevent or delay the recurrence of cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving m... Read More

Combination Chemotherapy With or Without PSC 833 in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Multiple Myeloma
Completed
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Some tumors become resistant to chemotherapy drugs. Combining PSC 833 with chemotherapy may reduce resistance to the drug, and allow more tumor cells to be killed. It is not yet known whether combination chemotherapy plus PSC 833 is more effective than combination chemotherapy alone in treating patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II... Read More
