This study will evaluate the safety, tolerability and efficacy of AR-1105 (dexamethasone implant) for the treatment of macular edema (ME) due to retinal vein occlusion (RVO). A more durable intravitreal implant containing a low dose of dexamethasone may result in less frequent retreatments, and potentially lower the incidence of steroid-related side effects without compromising efficacy. The goal of phase 1 of this clinical research study is to find the highest dose of DOTAP:Chol-TUSC2 that can be safely given in combination with Tarceva (erlotinib hydrochloride) to patients with NSCLC. The goal of phase 2 of this clinical research study is to learn if the combination of DOTAP:Chol-TUSC2 and erlotinib hydrochloride can help to control NSCLC. The safety of this drug combination will also be studied in both phases. DOTAP:Chol-TUSC2 (previously FUS1) is a drug that helps transfer a gene called TUSC2 into cancer cells. Researchers think that cells without this gene may be involved in the development of lung cancer tumors. They want to find out if replacing the gene in these cells may keep the tissue from forming cancer cells. This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of bortezomib when given with rituximab and chemotherapy drugs and to see how well they work in treating participants with mantle cell lymphoma. Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, may interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, dexamethasone, methotrexate, and cytarabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving bortezomib, rituximab and combination chemotherapy may work better at treating mantle cell lymphoma. Read Less

During penile prosthesis surgery, patients are given general anesthesia in combination with other pain drugs. A caudal nerve block (CNB) is a local anesthetic injected near the tailbone, in addition to general anesthesia, which can lower the need for pain drugs. The goal of this clinical research study is to learn how effective CNBs are in patients who are having penile prosthesis surgery compared to patients who only have general anesthesia by studying how long you stay in the hospital and the level of pain you have after surgery. This is an investigational study. The general anesthesia and CNB used in this study are FDA approved and commercially available. It is considered investigational to compare the effectiveness of CNBs in penile prosthesis surgery to general anesthesia alone. The study doctor can explain how the study drugs are designed to work. The study is designed as a Phase III, multicenter trial of tandem autologous transplants plus maintenance therapy versus the strategy of single autologous transplant plus consolidation therapy with lenalidomide, bortezomib and dexamethasone (RVD) followed by maintenance therapy or single autologous transplant plus maintenance therapy as part of upfront treatment of multiple myeloma (MM). The study is designed as a Phase III, multi-center trial of tandem autologous transplants versus the strategy of autologous followed by Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA)-matched sibling non-myeloablative allogeneic transplant. Study subjects will be biologically assigned to the appropriate arm depending on the availability of an HLA-matched sibling. RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Others interfere with the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Drugs used in chemotherapy also work in different ways to kill more cancer cells or stop them from growing. It is not yet known whether rituximab is more effective with combination chemotherapy or bendamustine hydrochloride in treating patients with mantle cell lymphoma undergoing peripheral blood stem cell transplantation. PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial studies how well giving rituximab together with combination chemotherapy or bendamustine hydrochloride followed by consolidation chemotherapy and peripheral blood stem cell transplantation works in treating older patients with previously untreated mantle cell lymphoma.
