Paclitaxel Treatment Options in Tampa, FL

There are two study questions we are asking in this randomized phase II/III trial based on a blood biomarker, Epstein Barr virus (EBV) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) for locoregionally advanced non-metastatic nasopharyngeal cancer. All patients will first undergo standard concurrent chemotherapy and radiation therapy. When this standard treatment is completed, if there is no detectable EBV DNA in their plasma, then patients are randomized to either standard adjuvant cisplatin and fluorouracil chemotherapy or observation. If there is still detectable levels of plasma EBV DNA, patients will be randomized to standard cisplatin and fluorouracil chemotherapy versus gemcitabine and paclitaxel. Radiation therapy uses high energy x rays to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, fluorouracil, gemcitabine hydrochloride, and paclitaxel work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether giving cisplatin and fluorouracil is more effective than gemcitabine hydrochloride and paclitaxel after radiation therapy in treating patients with nasopharyngeal cancer. The goal of this FID-007 Clinical Trial is to compare the efficacy of different dosing regimens of FID-007 in combination with Cetuximab in patients with recurrent or metastatic Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC). The main questions it aims to answer are: to evaluate the efficacy, and to characterize the safety and tolerability. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin and paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Vorinostat may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It is not yet known whether giving carboplatin and paclitaxel together is more effective with or without vorinostat in treating non-small cell lung cancer. Read Less

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride, cyclophosphamide, paclitaxel, and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether doxorubicin hydrochloride and cyclophosphamide is more effective when followed by paclitaxel alone or paclitaxel and carboplatin in treating triple-negative breast cancer. This is a Phase 1b/2 study of batiraxcept (AVB-S6-500) designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of batiraxcept in combination with nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine in subjects with locally advanced, recurrent, or metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma as first line therapy. The phase 1b portion of the study is open label and patients will receive batiraxcept, nab-paclitaxel, and gemcitabine. The Phase 2 portion of the study is randomized, 2-arm, open-label study to compare efficacy and tolerability of batiraxcept, nab-paclitaxel, and gemcitabine versus nab-paclitaxel and gemcitabine as first line therapy.
