This randomized phase III trial studies paclitaxel to see how well it works compared to polyglutamate paclitaxel or observation only in treating patients with stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial, peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and polyglutamate paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Paclitaxel and polyglutamate paclitaxel may also stop the growth of ovarian epithelial or peritoneal cancer by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Sometimes, after treatment, the tumor may not need additional treatment until it progresses. In this case, observation may be sufficient. It is not yet known whether paclitaxel is more effective than polyglutamate paclitaxel or observation only in treating ovarian epithelial, peritoneal, or fallopian tube cancer. Read Less

The main purpose of this study is to find out the dose of enzalutamide that can be safely given with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Researchers also want to find out the side effects of these drugs when given together. This study will help in finding out the effect on tumor of the combination of enzalutamide, gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel. In the first part of the study, different doses of enzalutamide will be tested. In the second part of the study, all patients will be started at the same dose of enzalutamide. Read Less

The main purpose of this study is to see primarily if BYL719 is safe to be given to patients in combination with gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel. Gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel is an FDA-approved regimen to treat pancreatic cancer.
