Semaglutide Treatment Options in Louisiana

This is a study to understand if taking VTX3232 alone or in combination with semaglutide is safe in participants diagnosed with Obesity. Approximately 160 patients will take VTX3232 Dose A, Placebo, VTX3232 Dose A in combination with semaglutide, or Placebo in combination with semaglutide. This study consists of a 30-day Screening Period (to see if a participant qualifies for a study), a 12-week double-blind treatment period (a participant receives VTX3232 Dose A, Placebo, VTX3232 Dose A in combination with semaglutide, or Placebo in combination with semaglutide), and a 30-day Follow-Up Period. This study will look at the effects of CagriSema on cardiovascular events (for example heart attack and stroke) in people living with cardiovascular disease. Participants will either get CagriSema or a dummy medicine (also called "placebo") which has no effect on the body. Which treatment participants will get will be decided by chance. Participant's chance of getting CagriSema or placebo is the same. Participants will inject the study medicine once a week. This study is open to adults between 18 and 65 years of age who have obesity. People can join the study if they have a body mass index (BMI) between 30 and 45 km/m². The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called survodutide improves how the body uses energy and breaks down fat. This study compares survodutide with another medicine called semaglutide. Survodutide is being developed to treat people with obesity. Semaglutide is already used to treat people with obesity. Participants are put into 2 groups by chance. One group gets survodutide and the other group gets semaglutide. Participants get survodutide or semaglutide as an injection under the skin once a week. Participants are in the study for 8-10 months depending on how long the treatment is given. During this time, they visit the study site weekly. Some of the visits may also be done at the participant's home instead of the study site. At some of the visits, doctors test how much energy a participant's body uses. This is done in a special room where they measure the oxygen that is breathed in and the carbon dioxide that is breathed out by the participant. This study compares semaglutide, together with a lower dose of insulin glargine, to a higher dose of insulin glargine in participants with type 2 diabetes. The study looks at how well the study medicines control blood glucose levels. Participants will either get semaglutide together with a lower dose of insulin glargine or a higher dose of insulin glargine. The study will last for about 47 weeks (approximately 11 months). Participants will have 9 clinic visits, 15 phone/video calls and 1 home visit. This study is being done to see if a combination of 2 medicines (called NNC0194-0499 and semaglutide) can reduce liver damage in patients with non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). NNC0194-0499 is a new medicine which works in the liver. Semaglutide is a well-known medicine, which is already used by doctors to treat type 2 diabetes in many countries. It also helps with weight loss and may reduce liver damage, and so prevent future liver complications. It works in a different way to NNC0194 0499. The 2 medicines may work better together than on their own. The study will also look at a combination of semaglutide and another weight-loss medicine called NNC0174-0833, which may be another treatment option for NASH. Each week, participants will get 2 injections. These could be 2 of the 3 medicines OR 1 of the medicines and a placebo OR 2 placebo injections. Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. A placebo is a dummy medicine which looks like the real medicine but doesn't contain any active medicine. The study will last for about 19 months. Participants will have 14 clinic visits and 9 phone calls with the study doctor. Participants will have 1 or 2 liver biopsies (tiny pieces of liver tissue) - one at the start (if participants have not had a biopsy recently) and one at the end of the study treatment. Participants will need to do this once a week. The study will last for about 5 years. Participants will have up to 21 clinic visits and 9 phone calls with the clinical staff during the study. Some of the clinic visits may be spread over more than one day. Participants with other chronic liver diseases cannot take part in this study.
