Semaglutide Treatment Options in New York

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if semaglutide can reduce illicit opioid use in adults in outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder, and who are receiving either buprenorphine or methadone maintenance treatment. The main question it aims to answer is: • Does semaglutide increase the likelihood that participants will refrain from using illicit and nonprescribed opioids? The investigators will compare semaglutide to a placebo (a needle prick that contains no drug) to see if semaglutide works to reduce use of illicit and nonprescribed opioids. The participants will: * Take semaglutide or a placebo every week for 12 weeks * Visit the clinic every week for urine drug screening and pregnancy testing, vital signs, and to complete mental health and drug use questionnaires * Complete smartphone surveys sent at set times during the study Read Less

The study evaluates the safety of different doses of a new medicine called NNC0519 0130. It also looks into how the medicine may improve kidney function in participants with chronic kidney disease with or without type 2 diabetes, living with overweight or obesity. The participants will either get NNC0519-0130 (a new medicine), semaglutide (a medicine that doctors can already prescribe), or placebo (a "dummy" substance). The study is testing how well semaglutide can help adolescents with excess body weight to lose weight and to maintain weight loss. All participants in the study will receive semaglutide as a weekly injection. The study medicine is injected with a thin needle in the stomach, thighs or upper arms. This study will look at the effects of CagriSema in people with both type 2 diabetes and painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy, compared to placebo. Participants will either get an active medicine or a "dummy" medicine (placebo). Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. In this study the active, investigational medicine is called CagriSema. Doctors cannot yet prescribe CagriSema. For each participant, the study will last for about 10 months. Read Less

This study will look at how well CagriSema helps people living with obesity to lose weight and maintain the weight loss long-term. The study has 2 parts: The first part is called 'the main study' and the second part is called 'the extension study'. In the main study participants will either get CagriSema (a study medicine) or placebo (a dummy medicine that looks like CagriSema but has no active ingredient). Which treatment participants get is decided by chance. Participants are two times more likely to get CagriSema than placebo. If participants get CagriSema in the main study, participants will continue on CagriSema in the extension study. Which dose of CagriSema participants will continue on is decided by chance. If participants get placebo in the main study, participants will get CagriSema in the extension study. Participants will take one injection of study medicine once a week.
