The aim of the study was to describe the safety and immunogenicity of a 0.5-mL dose (15 μg hemagglutinin \[HA\] per strain) of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine in children 6 to \<36 months of age. Primary objective: * To compare the rate of any fever (temperature ≥100.4 degrees Fahrenheit \[38.0 degrees Celsius) following a 0.5-mL dose of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine to that following a 0.25-mL dose of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine during the 7 days after either vaccination (Dose 1 and Dose 2 combined) in participants 6 to \< 36 months of age. Secondary objective: * To compare antibody responses induced by a 0.5-mL dose of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine to those induced by a 0.25-mL dose of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine as assessed by geometric mean titer (GMT) ratios and seroconversion rate differences after the final vaccination in participants 6 to \< 36 months of age. Other objectives: * To describe the safety of 2 different dose levels of the 2016-2017 formulation of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine in participants 6 to \< 36 months of age. * To describe the immunogenicity of 2 different dose levels of the 2016-2017 formulation of Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine in participants 6 months to \< 36 months of age. * To submit available sera from approximately 30 participants to the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research for further analysis by the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the FDA to support formulation recommendations for subsequent influenza vaccines. Autologous Vigil™ vaccine expresses rhGMCSF and bi-shRNAfurin from the Vigil™ plasmid. The GMCSF protein is a potent stimulator of the immune system, recruiting immune effectors to the site of intradermal injection and promoting antigen presentation. The furin bifunctional shRNA blocks furin protein production at the post transcriptional and translational levels. This decrease in furin in turn decreases the conversion of the proforms TGFβ1 and TGFβ2 proteins. Also, reduced furin protein levels have a negative feedback inhibition on TGFβ1 and TGFβ2 gene expression, decreasing the levels of their mRNAs. INVESTED will test the hypothesis that high dose trivalent influenza vaccine will reduce cardiopulmonary events to a greater extent than standard dose quadrivalent influenza vaccine in high-risk cardiovascular patients with a recent history of myocardial infarction or heart failure. The trial will enroll 9300 participants over one Vanguard (pilot) season and three additional influenza seasons. This is a Phase I double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled study in 250 healthy adults, 18-49 years of age, inclusive, who are in good health and meet all eligibility criteria. The purpose of this dose escalation clinical study is to assess the safety, tolerability/reactogenicity, and immunogenicity of H3N2 M2SR investigational vaccines for prevention of influenza, when delivered at higher dosages or in two doses . Eligible subjects will be screened and randomized to receive two administrations 28 days apart of Sing2016 M2SR at three dose levels (low, medium, high), Bris10 M2SR at one dose level (low), or placebo in a 1:1:1:1:1 ratio. This study will assess the safety, tolerability and immune response of 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (13vPnC) compared with 23-valent Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine (23vPS). Although the study started with only 1 population, amendments to the original protocol will now reflect three participant populations. Three age cohorts will be enrolled. The first cohort (age 60-64) will be blinded. Cohort 2 (age 50-59) and cohort 3 (age 18-49) are open label. Subjects in cohorts 1 and 2 will receive 2 vaccinations 3-4 years apart. HIV vaccines may help the immune systems of HIV infected patients better control the virus. The goal of this study is to determine whether patients on anti-HIV medications can stop taking those medications if they receive an HIV vaccine. While taking anti-HIV medications, participants will receive either an HIV vaccine or a placebo. Participants will then stop taking their anti-HIV medications and the study will compare the viral loads of participants who received the vaccine with the viral loads of participants who received the placebo. Primary study hypotheses: 1)The Week 12 and Week 16 post-ART interruption geometric mean HIV-1 RNA levels will be lower among participants who had received MRK Ad5 vaccine prior to ART interruption than among participants who received placebo; 2) the time averaged area under the curve of the log10 HIV-1 RNA copies/ml versus day function in the 16 week post-ART interruption step will be lower among participants who received the MRK Ad5 vaccine prior to ART interruption than among participants who receive placebo. The purpose of this study is to determine if 2 doses of Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) followed by 1 dose of Pneumococcal Polysaccharide Vaccine (PPV) in HIV-infected children on anti-HIV therapy is helpful and safe in fighting pneumococcal infections in this group of children. This study will also look at the protection provided by childhood vaccination against measles, pertussis, and hepatitis B virus. Pneumococcal infections are the most common AIDS-related infection in HIV-infected children. PCV may help reduce the chances of HIV-infected children getting pneumococcal infections. This study will look at whether pneumococcal vaccines are safe and effective in HIV-infected children receiving HAART. It will look at whether HIV-infected children are protected by childhood vaccines received previously and if more doses are safe and improve protection. Read Less

To assess whether HIV-infected infants who receive a heptavalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine have more local reactions at the site of injection and systemic reactions than placebo subjects. To assess whether this vaccine is more immunogenic than placebo following the third vaccination. Children with HIV infection are at increased risk for invasive pneumococcal infection, particularly bacteremia. A large proportion of pneumococcal disease is caused by a limited number of serotypes. The maximum number of pneumococcal serotypes that can be included in a new conjugate vaccine is felt to be limited by the amount of carrier protein. A heptavalent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine has been developed that consists of pneumococcal capsular saccharides from serotypes 4, 6B, 9V, 14, 18C, 19F, and 23F bound to a diphtheria toxin mutant carrier protein.
