Protecting the Eyes of Gamers With Lubricating Eyedrops
Recruiting
The excessive use of screens particularly amongst digital gamers can adversely impact the health of the surface of the eyes with symptoms and signs of surface damage. While strategies including limiting screen time exist, these may be ineffective given the widespread rise of digital device use and gaming culture in the modern era. There is limited evidence for the protective effect of lubricating eyedrops on the ocular surface for handheld console and computer gamers.
The aim of this study is t... Read More

Multi-Institutional Registry for Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumors
Recruiting
First, the investigators plan to use a retrospective analysis to determine the clinical landscape of neurofibromatosis (NF)1-associated malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) and precursor lesions (e.g., atypical or nodular plexiform neurofibromas). A worldwide database will be established, collecting, in a standardized manner, histologic, immunohistochemical, molecular, radiographic, treatment, and related clinical data from centers worldwide with expertise in these NF1-related cancers... IGEL Laryngeal Mask Airway Device Effectiveness in Irradiated Necks
Recruiting
It is known that patients with head and neck cancer who have had radiation therapy to the structures of the neck are at a greater risk of difficult mask ventilation and tracheal intubation than the majority of patients undergoing general anaesthesia.
Failure to maintain oxygenation can lead to catastrophic consequences for any patient undergoing general anaesthesia, such as severe hypoxic brain injury and death.
As such, the current guidelines from the Difficult Airway Society promote the use... Read More

A Study of Bispecific Antibody MCLA-158 in Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors
Recruiting
This is a Phase 1/2 open-label, multi-center, multi-national study with an initial dose escalation part to determine the recommended Phase II dose (RP2D) of MCLA-158 single agent in patients with mCRC.
The dose escalation part has been completed and the RP2D will be further evaluated in an expansion part of the study. Cohorts of selected solid tumor indications for which there is evidence of EGFR dependency and potential sensitivity to EGFR inhibition will be evaluated including head and neck c... Read More

Teicoplanin Allergy Testing Using Autologous Serum (TATAS)
Recruiting
Allergy testing for Teicoplanin is much more unreliable than for other similar drugs. This means that we run the risk of missing serious Teicoplanin allergy, and these patients will be given another dose in future, not knowing that they are seriously allergic. Serious allergic reactions, also known as anaphylaxis, can be life threatening.
The patients which we recruit to our study will come to us through the perioperative allergy service. They will have had a reaction to a general anaesthetic,... Read More
