Investigators aim to improve the skills of premature or sick term infants in breastfeeding by boosting motor learning with transcutaneous vagus nerve stimulation. Investigators will recruit 10 premature, ≥ 35 weeks gestational age, or convalescing sick term infants admitted to the NICU at MUSC to participate in this study. Infants will receive taVNS treatments once a day with breastfeeding's for up to 14 days. Before each treatment, the researcher will determine how much electrical stimulation is needed for the infant to feel a slight tingle without discomfort, and during daily treatment paired with breastfeeding the infant will continue to receive this level of electrical stimulation, coinciding with latching and sucking, repeated over the duration of the feed. Investigators will collect information about the pre- and post-feed weights, the length of time for each feed, and observations of latch, suck, and swallow techniques by the infant from parents and the lactation consultant. Investigators will also evaluate parental satisfaction associated with their infant's ability to breastfeed after taVNS by providing parental satisfaction surveys at the beginning, after 1 and 2 weeks, and at 3 months after the end of the study to assess infants' progress in and maintenance of breastfeeding abilities. If the pairing of breastfeeding with taVNS is able to result in improved outcomes of effective breastfeeding in infants in the neonatal intensive care units, this intervention could be further utilized by NICUs to increase the rate of premature and sick term infants who are successfully able to breastfeed at the time of discharge and maintain breast feeding longer after discharge. This would allow premature infants to acquire the many benefits of breastmilk as well as contribute towards the strengthening of the maternal-infant bond that breastfeeding has been shown to enhance. The goal of this survey and interview study is to learn about patient experience consenting for permanent contraception using the Medicaid Title XIX Sterilization Consent form. The main questions it aims to answer are: * To explore patient perspectives on and understanding of the current consenting process for obtaining permanent contraception as it relates to the Medicaid Title XIX Sterilization consent form. * To explore patient experience with the current consenting process, and thoughts regarding the ideal consenting process including how it would differ from the one currently in place, if at all. Participants will complete a 10-15 minute survey and be offered participation in an in-depth one-on-one interview. Read Less

Investigator will test an intervention to increase use of a fruit and vegetable incentive program in South Carolina for families in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) experiencing food insecurity. Caregivers are randomized to an intervention or an education-only, wait-list control group. This multicenter phase 1 trial with "3 + 3" dose escalation design seeks to examine the feasibility and safety of the administration of autologous T cells that have been modified through the introduction of chimeric antigen receptors targeting the B cell surface antigens CD19/20/22 following administration of a chemotherapy lymphodepletion regimen in adults with relapsed/refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) or Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). In individuals with overweight/obesity, increases in physical activity (PA) can improve metabolic and cardiovascular health, independent of weight loss. However, PA levels are often low in individuals with overweight/obesity, and primary care providers (PCPs) are tasked with addressing this issue. The investigative team developed and successfully piloted integrating a Fitbit program into clinical care, where patients were referred by PCPs, and PCPs could view PA data in the Epic electronic health record. Though feasible, PCPs wanted additional support for PA management. The investigative team proposes a reimbursable service of a health coach to work collaboratively with PCPs, to deliver a Fitbit-supported PA program to patients with overweight/obesity who have been prescribed a weight loss medication for weight loss for a minimum of 3 months. In Aim 1, the team will enroll PCPs to refer patients to a 12-week health coaching program. In Aim 2, the team will conduct interviews with enrolled patients/PCPs to understand their perspectives on the program, and with new sites to establish relationships for a future R01 submission.
