Topical metronidazole is a widely used first line treatment for erythemotelangiectatic and inflammatory rosacea. Commonly, a moisturizer is also used to restore the skin barrier and reduce inflammation. The purpose of this study is to assess the whether the common practice of applying moisturizer prior to topical metronidazole affects this medication's stratum corneum penetrance in rosacea patients. Participants will have one research office visit that will consist of having a randomly assigned combination of metronidazole and one of four moisturizers applied to their face, followed by non-invasive tape stripping of skin at the 1 hour and 4 hour time points. These tape strip samples will be analyzed with liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) for assessment of metronidazole penetrance in the stratum corneum in the presence of moisturizers. The target population will be rosacea patients in the age range of 18-60 years of age. This study has minimal risks/safety issues as topical metronidazole is an already FDA approved medication with an indication for rosacea and all investigated moisturizers are over-the-counter formulations commonly used within the rosacea patient population. Tape stripping will remove 5 levels of superficial stratum corneum, and will not result in bleeding, scarring, or other prolonged cosmetic disfigurement. Small, transient bruising may result from tape strip collection. The collected samples will have no to minimal biohazard risk, as the collected specimen for analysis will only contain skin scale; samples will be extracted with organic solvents and decontaminated with a 0.2 micron nylon filter prior to analysis on the LC-MS instrumentation. The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of the combination of D2C7-IT+2141-V11 administered in the non-enhancing tumor of patients with resected recurrent glioblastoma (rGBM) via convection enhanced delivery (CED), followed by subcutaneous cervical perilymphatic injections (CPLIs) of 2141-V11 2 and 4 weeks post infusion, then every 3 weeks for a year, and every 4-6 weeks thereafter if patients benefit from therapy. Patients with stroke frequently suffer from aphasia, a disorder of expressive and/or receptive language, that can lead to serious health consequences, including social isolation, depression, reduced quality of life, and increased caregiver burden. Aphasia recovery varies greatly between individuals, and likely relies upon the capacity for neuroplasticity, both at a systems level of reorganized brain networks and a molecular level of neuronal repair and plasticity. The proposed work will evaluate genetic and neural network biological markers of neuroplasticity associated with variability in aphasia, with a future goal to improve prognostics and identify therapeutic targets to reduce the long-term burdens of aphasia. The goal of this clinical trial is to test the benefits of beat-accented music stimulation (BMS) for behavioral changes of physical activity (PA) in older adults with subjective memory complaints. Specific Aims are to determine (1) whether BMS beneficially influences PA behaviors and psychological responses to PA in older adults for 6 months, and (2) whether exercising with BMS differently influences physical and cognitive functioning as well as quality of life in older adults.To test the effects of BMS on PA, participants will be randomly assigned to an exercise intervention that either includes BMS or does not include BMS. Participants will attend a supervised group strength training (ST) (30 min/day) and and aerobic exercise (AE) (30-50 min/day) session for 3 days/week for the first 2 months, 1 day/week for the next 2 months (while encouraging participants to independently perform both AE and ST on other days), and independently for the final 2 months (always with a goal of performing \>150min/week AE and 3 days/week of ST for 30 min/day). The investigators will test the following hypothesis: Use of Glide results in improved functional performance, satisfaction, and usage metrics as compared to use of a standard Direct Control (DC) prosthesis. This study will compare the use of Glide \[Experimental\] prosthesis with a DC \[Standard\] prosthesis in a clinical setting and in unsupervised daily activity. We will follow a multiple baseline design, specifically an AB design. Each of the subjects will use the Experimental and Standard systems over a total of 24-weeks. The A phase is the baseline phase where the DC prosthesis will be used, and the B phase will be the treatment phase where the Glide prosthesis will be used. Participants will undergo an A phase of either 10-weeks, 12-weeks, or 14-weeks duration, with the remaining 14-, 12-, or 10-weeks of the study being dedicated to the B phase. Read Less

The Michigan Men's Diabetes Project III: Mind \& Motion is an 7-month pilot randomized clinical trial. The investigators are looking to recruit 80 Black men with type 2 diabetes (T2D) (need to have diagnosis for at least one year) that are over the age of 18. Participants also must be under the care of a physician for their diabetes, self report an Hemoglobin A1c (A1C) of 7.0% or more in the last year, be willing to participate in study events (weekly physical activity, exercise and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) sessions, group discussion sessions, and in-person health assessments), have reliable internet access (steady internet connection or unlimited data) that will allow them to use a tablet/phone/computer to complete study related tasks, live in the Wayne or Washtenaw County, and have reliable transportation to in-person events. All participants will receive 8 hours/sessions of cognitive behavioral therapy. Participants randomized to the intervention arm will also receive 8 sessions of guided exercise at the same time. Following that they will also receive 8 group discussion sessions that will serve as on-going support. All sessions will be help via Zoom. This study enrolls adults with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) who underwent goniotomy intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering surgery with the C-Rex Instrument. Patients are consented prior to surgery and followed for 12 months postoperatively. Data regarding IOP, use of glaucoma medications, and any device-related complications are collected during the study time period. Read Less
