Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training for Lowering Blood Pressure and Improving Endothelial Function in Postmenopausal Women: Comparison With "Standard of Care" Aerobic Exercise
Recruiting
High blood pressure (BP) is the major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and related health conditions, particularly among postmenopausal (PM) women. In adults age ≥50 years this risk is primarily driven by above-normal systolic BP (SBP ≥120 mmHg), as diastolic BP plateaus, then decreases in older adulthood. Although SBP is lower in premenopausal women vs. age-matched men, SBP reaches, then surpasses men after age 60. As such, \>75% of PM women in the U.S. have above-normal... Read More

Locomotor Recovery and Compensation Post-stroke (LRC)
Recruiting
The proposed research will characterize of the time course of neurological and locomotor recovery as well as development of compensatory strategies throughout sub-acute and chronic phases post stroke. In addition, we will also investigate the extent to which measures of recovery and compensation are malleable and can be altered with specific interventions in both the early and late stages post-stroke. Delineation of the time course of development and magnitude of patterns of recovery and compens... Read More

Virtual Reality Visual Field Testing as an Alternative in Childhood Eye Disease
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to test a new way of measuring the peripheral vision (called a visual field test) using a device which can be worn as goggles rather than being a large instrument the patient must sit at. This new visual field test (called VisuALL) is an FDA-approved virtual reality system which has been used in adults and children. This study will compare the performance of the VisuALL to the standard testing for peripheral vision, which is called the Humphrey Visual Field (HVF) tes... Read More

Efficacy of Valbenazine for the Treatment of Trichotillomania in Adults
Recruiting
This trial aims to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of valbenazine, titrated to the subject's optimal dose of 40mg or 80mg, administered once daily, for 12 weeks, for the treatment of trichotillomania (TTM) in a double blind placebo controlled design study. After week 12, subjects will begin a 12-week, open-label portion of the study. During the open-label portion of the study, all subjects will receive the study drug at their optimal dose. The primary endpoint of these studies wil... Read More

F-Tryptophan PET/CT in Human Cancers
Recruiting
Imaging procedures such as 1-(2-\[18F\]FLUOROETHYL)-L-Tryptophan PET/CT in patients with cancers may help doctors assess a patient's response to treatment and help plan the best treatment in the future. The purpose is to see if there can be a better differentiation of tumor and non-tumor tissue where the tumor tissue has a higher uptake of Tryptophan.

Efficacy of Repeated Low-level Red-light Therapy in Myopia Control
Recruiting
Low-level red-light technology provides a new and innovative myopia control approach. This strategy enables relatively high energies of light to be delivered at much shorter durations of exposure to induce the myopia control effect. The efficacy of the low-level red-light technology has been proven in a Chinese population. This trial demonstrated that 3-minutes per session twice a day repeated low-level red-light treatment controlled 87.7% of refraction progression and 76.8% of axial length elon... Read More
