WePrEP: Developing a PrEP Shared Decision-making Tool for Transgender Women
Recruiting
HIV prevalence among transgender women (TW) in the United States is high (\~14%). The best way to reduce HIV incidence in this population is to link TW to HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), which can reduce HIV transmission by up to 86%, with optimal adherence. The FDA approved the first long-acting form of PrEP, injectable cabotegravir (CAB-LA), in late 2021, which has the potential to decrease HIV transmission and increase PrEP adherence among TW. The addition of CAB-LA to available PrEP opt... Read More

A Natural History Study of the Gangliosidoses
Recruiting
Hypothesis: To characterize and describe disease progression and heterogeneity of the gangliosidosis diseases.
This research study seeks to develop a quantitative method to delineate disease progression for the gangliosidosis diseases (Tay-Sachs disease, Sandhoff disease, and GM1 gangliosidosis) in order to better understand the natural history and heterogeneity of these diseases. Such a quantitative method will also be essential for evaluating any treatments that may become available in the fu... Read More

Functional Brain Mapping for Patients with Epilepsy
Recruiting
We aim to determine the clinical utility of 'dynamic tractography': a novel method for visualizing electrical neural transfers that incorporates the underlying white matter tracts and supporting linguistic processing. We will also determine how well objective electrophysiology biomarkers will improve the prediction of language outcomes following epilepsy surgery. This project will ultimately optimize understanding of how the human brain develops its language network dynamics.
