The proposal aims to investigate a non-invasive, cost-effective method for rebuilding muscle mass in individuals with transtibial limb loss. Maintaining a healthy, pain-free residual limb is a primary concern for prosthesis users. Amputees commonly experience muscle deficits leading to mobility issues, poor prosthetic fit, and chronic pain. Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) is a potential intervention that activates muscles with low-level electrical stimulation, improving strength, function, and reducing pain. The study seeks to understand NMES's effects on muscle parameters and pain to develop evidence-based interventions for amputees. Twenty participants with transtibial amputations will undergo an 8-week NMES training program. Ultrasound imaging will assess muscle thickness, cross-sectional area, and composition changes. The study aims to enhance mobility, prosthetic fit, and overall well-being of amputees, addressing challenges and reducing healthcare burdens. Read Less

The NICHD Neonatal Research Network's Follow-Up study is a multi-center cohort in which surviving extremely low birth-weight infants born in participating network centers receive neurodevelopmental, neurosensory and functional assessments at 22-26 months corrected age (Infants born prior to July 1, 2012 were seen at 18-22 months corrected age). The Generic Database (GDB) is a registry of very low birth weight infants born alive in NICHD Neonatal Research Network (NRN) centers. The GDB collects observational baseline data on both mothers and infants, and the therapies used and outcomes of the infants. The information collected is not specific to a disease or treatment (i.e., it is "generic"). Data are analyzed to find associations and trends between baseline information, treatments, and infant outcome, and to develop future NRN trials. Read Less

The purpose of this study is to collect existing tissue specimens from subjects enrolled in Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium (VCRC) studies. Analysis of these tissue specimens and linked clinical data collected through VCRC studies may lead to the identification and development of a series of translational research projects. Results of these studies will provide vasculitis researchers with insight into the causes of these diseases and generate new ideas for diagnostic tests and therapies, and will be of great interest to the larger communities of researchers investigating vasculitis and other autoimmune, inflammatory, and vascular diseases. This early phase I trial aims to determine how cobimetinib, olaparib, onvansertib, azenosertib, AZD5305 or tremelimumab works in patients with pancreatic cancer. Validation of cobimetinib, olaparib, onvansertib azenosertib, AZD5305 and tremelimumab molecular targets will be explored by comparing pre-treatment biopsies with post-treatment specimens. This knowledge will help design future biomarker driven trials to determine whether giving cobimetinib, or olaparib, or onvansertib or azenosertib, or AZD5305, or tremelimumab will work better than standard treatments in patients with pancreatic cancer. This is a Phase 1, prospective, multi-center, open-label, sequential dose escalation study to explore the safety, feasibility, and efficacy of a single intracoronary infusion of AB-1002 in patients with NYHA Class III heart failure. Patients with non-ischemic cardiomyopathy will be enrolled until up to 17 subjects have received infusions of investigational product. All patients will be followed until 12 months post treatment intervention, and then undergo long-term follow-up via semi-structured telephone questionnaires every 6 months for an additional 24 months (+/- 30 days). Various methods have been studied to evaluate autoregulation. However, there is currently no universally accepted technique to assess integrity of the cerebral autoregulation neurovascular system. In the last decade, significant progress has been achieved in developing methods to assess cerebral autoregulation by quantifying cross-correlation between spontaneous oscillations in CBF or oxygenation and similar oscillations in arterial blood pressure. In this study the investigators will analyze the relationship between spontaneous fluctuations in mean arterial blood pressure and cerebral blood flow velocity or cerebral regional oxygenation to investigate two novel methods for measuring cerebral autoregulation, Transfer Function Analysis and Wavelet Coherence after acute pediatric brain injury. This is a research study to assess the effectiveness of a peer-led collaborative care model for integrating treatment for substance use and or mental health disorders into HIV care settings. Depending on whether or not participants enroll in this study, participants will be assigned randomly (by chance, like drawing a number from a hat) to one of two groups. In group 1, participants would receive usual clinical care. In group 2, participants would work with a peer-case manager who would help support participants to engage in substance use or mental health disorder care. Regardless of the group participants are in, participants will fill out a survey when first enrolled in the study, and then again 12 months later. Read Less
