The overall goal of this project is to model human joint biomechanics over continuously-varying locomotion to enable adaptive control of powered above-knee prostheses. The central hypothesis of this project is that variable joint impedance can be parameterized by a continuous model based on measurable quantities called phase and task variables. This project will use machine learning to identify variable impedance functions from able-bodied data including joint perturbation responses across the phase/task space to bias the solution toward biological values. The research is studying virtual reality (VR)-directed brain-gut behavioral therapy (BGBT) as a pain treatment option for hospitalized patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This study is being done to learn if VR-directed BGBT is feasible and acceptable for patients with IBD in addressing pain in the hospital setting. The study hypothesizes that: * At least 75% of enrolled participants will complete the VR-directed BGBT inpatient program * Hospitalized patients with IBD will find VR-directed BGBT acceptable as a pain treatment option in the inpatient setting. The goal of this study is to determine if benchtop incubators improve the number of embryos making it to the blastocyst stage of development (about 4-6 days after fertilization) in people undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment for their infertility. * Test the effectiveness of the benchtop incubator. * Determine if the number of embryos reaching the blastocyst stage of embryo development (the stage that the embryos are biopsied for PGT-A and frozen) is improved in the benchtop incubator compared to the box incubator. * Compare embryology outcomes between the two incubator types. * Investigate transfer and pregnancy outcomes. * Expand the knowledge surrounding the impact of the incubator on IVF outcomes. To determine if the emergency department (ED) setting offers a viable space for improving HPV vaccination coverage among 18 to 45-year-old adults who have not yet received human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination or who did not complete the vaccine series. This study will develop, pilot and evaluate an ED-based HPV vaccination protocol and program for ED patients aged 18-26 (for whom catch-up HPV vaccination is routinely recommended by the CDC) and separately for patients aged 27-45 (for whom it may be recommended under shared decision making, SDM). This trial will examine whether interrupting 3.5 hours of sitting every 30 min with 6 min high intensity interval training (HIIT) breaks compared to light intensity interval training (LIIT) will improve brain health in cognitively normal older adults. This trial will test the feasibility of HIIT breaks to sitting. It will also address several important but unanswered questions: (1) Does interrupting sitting with short HIIT breaks improve frontoparietal function? (2) Can interrupting sitting with HIIT breaks improve cognitive functions? Read Less

Although evidence-based clinical interventions (CI) are a preferred treatment option for patients with depression, CIs are rarely available in community primary care settings. When available, CIs are often delivered with poor fidelity and abandoned by practitioners during the initial months post-training. Identifying effective implementation strategies to support the adoption, reach, and sustained use with fidelity of these CIs could enhance the effectiveness of primary care-based treatment of depression, as primary care is where most treatment for this disorder is delivered. Current models of primacy care practitioner training and supervision follow standard formal didactic procedures that might not be sufficient for successful adoption, high-fidelity delivery, and sustainment of CIs. Automated decision support tools and feedback systems embedded in health informatics technology have been found to be effective in supporting the use of best practices and hence might be useful for the transition from training to sustained CI use. In practice, however, these tools are ignored by practitioners, have mixed success on outcomes, and can hinder clinical care owing to poor design. Problem Solving Treatment Aid (PST-Aid), an educate and reorganize implementation strategy, is a web-based app that promotes practitioner-client collaboration in the use of PST for goal setting and action planning. A pilot randomized trial comparing Problem Solving Treatment (PST) training-as-usual to training plus PST-Aid found PST-Aid was deemed to be appropriate and usable to both practitioner and client users with preliminary support for benefits in depression outcomes. This phase I trial tests the safety, side effects, and effectiveness of olutasidenib in preventing the return of disease (relapse) in patients who have undergone donor (allogeneic) hematopoietic cell transplant for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) carrying an IDH1 mutation. Olutasidenib is in a class of medications called IDH1 inhibitors. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells. Giving olutasidenib may be safe, tolerable and/or effective in preventing relapse in patients with IDH1 mutated AML, MDS or CMML after an allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant. Read Less

Chronic musculoskeletal pain contributes to mobility disability among older adults. Nutritional interventions, like omega-3 fatty acids, may help manage pain and improve physical function. Supplementation with krill oil may offer advantages to fish oil due to better absorption and additional nutrients. This pilot study aims to assess the feasibility of a clinical trial to determine the impact of krill oil supplementation on pain and function in older adults, informing future research. Read Less

The proposed study focuses on testing a novel adapted evidence-based multilevel intervention, Deprescribing Thyroid Hormone In Older Adults (D-THIO), to support thyroid hormone deprescribing (dose de-escalation and/or discontinuation) in older adults with thyroid hormone overtreatment and/or misuse and reduce patient harm. Findings from this study will lay the groundwork for broad implementation of D-THIO and serve as a model for deprescribing inappropriate medications for other endocrine conditions and conditions with biochemical monitoring.
