The proposed study utilizes a randomized experimental therapeutics design to test a mechanistic framework linking interoceptive processing and disturbed body image, with the purpose of informing the development of future therapies for body image dissatisfaction in anorexia nervosa (AN). A sample of 102 participants will be recruited from the Laureate Eating Disorder Program (LEDP). After being randomized, participants will all receive a one-hour session of acceptance- and mindfulness-based training with a therapist (the introduction session). They will then receive either the interoceptively focused treatment (IFT) or exteroceptively focused treatment (EFT) condition based on randomization. In the IFT condition participants will engage in floatation-REST (Reduced Environmental Stimulation Therapy) while practicing acceptance and mindfulness-based principles. The EFT condition is an exteroceptive intervention in which participants will be asked to view pre-recorded videos of acceptance and mindfulness-based skills to aid in the practice of these skills. Each condition will consist of one introduction session and three experimental sessions. All participants will then return for follow-up measures. Assessed outcomes will include acute changes in body image disturbance (BID) and interoception. Further, longitudinal intervention effects on self-reported eating disorder symptoms, body image dissatisfaction, and interoception; behavioral measures of interoception and body image dissatisfaction; and resting state and interoceptive functioning during functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) will be explored. The goal of this clinical trial is to test the effectiveness of a peer-facilitated travel intervention in adults with serious mental illnesses. This project aims to address the following hypotheses: 1. Individuals with SMI receiving either of the two peer-mediated travel training transportation interventions will experience an increase in transportation self-efficacy and transportation skills. 2. Participants in the intervention arms will increase their transport utilization, participate in significantly more activities in the community, and make significantly more trips in the community. 3. Individuals with SMI receiving peer-mediated travel training interventions will retain post-test levels of community participation and self-efficacy 2 months after intervention. Participants will be assigned to an 8-week travel-training intervention either using a bike-share program or public transportation. This is a research study in women to compare the outcomes of two procedures that restore blood flow to the arteries of the heart. In one procedure the blockages are ballooned and then stented with a small wire mesh tube through a small incision in the wrist or the groin. The other procedure is an open-heart operation in which healthy blood vessels from inside the chest, leg, and/or forearm are used to "bypass" the blockages (like a detour). Outcomes will be measured by comparing survival and improvement in quality-of-life. Read Less

The overarching goal of this study phase, Phase II component is to perform a randomized clinical trial of the refined Computerized Chemosensory-Based Orbitofrontal Networks Training for Treatment of Pain \[CBOT-Pain (or CBOT-P)\] from Phase I, compared to sham Computerized Chemosensory-Based Orbitofrontal Networks Training (CBOT) in Chronic Low Back Pain (CLBP) to determine its short- and long-term effectiveness on Pain, Negative Affect (NA), Cognition and Cortical Brain Structure (PACS), long-term safety, and indications. The investigators will perform a randomized clinical trial of the refined CBOT-P from Phase I, compared to sham CBOT in CLBP. Aim 2.1: To determine if CBOT-P significantly influences: (1) acute and long-term reduction of pain severity, and (2) acute and long-term reduction of negative affect. The hypothesis is that optimized CBOT will produce faster, stronger, and longer-lasting improvements in pain severity, NA severity, cognitive impairments, and sleep and functional outcomes. Aim 2.2 To determine if CBOT-P significantly prevents or reduces progressive shrinkage in the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC), cingulate cortex, and hippocampus. MRI will be acquired at baseline and 6th month. An integrative analysis will be conducted to determine the link between changes in brain structure and cognitive trajectory. The hypothesis is that the CBOT optimized with BCP significantly attenuates shrinkage in OFC and other prefrontal cortex (PFC) regions, compared to the Sham intervention. Read Less

Pseudohypoparathyroidism is a genetic disorder with limited treatment options, characterized by early-onset obesity, short stature and resistance to multiple hormones. This phase 2 clinical trial and open-label extension study will test the efficacy of theophylline, a phosphodiesterase inhibitor, in pseudohypoparathyroidism. We hypothesize that theophylline will cause weight loss, slow the rate of growth plate closure and decrease hormone resistance in children. Read Less

This study evaluates the effectiveness and safety of Polatuzumab vedotin plus infusional chemoimmunotherapy containing rituximab, etoposide, prednisone, cyclophosphamide and hydroxydaunorubicin. This is a single arm study. Enrolled patients will receive up to six cycles (21-day cycles) of therapy. While on study, subjects will be monitored weekly until end of treatment, then followed for 52 weeks or until disease progression or discontinuation due to toxicity or death. After completion of the 52-week follow-up/End of study visit, Subjects will be followed for an additional 104 week period, with an assessment occurring every 12 weeks to evaluate survival outcomes and next line of treatments only.
