This study will involve the recruitment of adult patients with hemorrhoids for whom rubber band ligation is the recommended treatment. The investigators aim to conduct a feasibility randomized controlled trial (RCT) of an eating disorder prevention program (The Body Project, adapted for pregnancy) versus a health education control among pregnant individuals with histories of an ED. The investigators will test the feasibility, implementation outcomes, and its preliminary effectiveness in reducing the risk of elevated disordered eating and body dissatisfaction during pregnancy and postpartum. Prostate cancer is also the most common cancer in men with inherited pathogenic variants in BRCA1 and BRCA2. Beyond BRCA1/2, other genes are known to increase the risk of prostate cancer, including ATM, TP53 and HOXB13. We have shown that 5% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer localized to their prostate gland and up to 10-15% of patients with metastatic prostate cancer gland are carriers of an inherited gene mutation. The Prostate Tissue BioBank is a prospective study which aims to create a biorepository of prostate tissue samples from prostate biopsies and prostatectomies and matched germline DNA from pathogenic mutation carriers in addition to age-matched control samples. The purpose of this study is to learn more about personalized cancer therapy including response to treatment and side effects. Information about the tests and treatments a person received, or will receive, for their cancer will be collected from medical records to help the researchers determine whether or not patients respond better when their physicians choose to treat them according to the genetic makeup of their tumor. Optional research tests may be performed on tissue, body cavity fluid, blood or urine provided, discarded biological samples taken during routine care that would normally be disposed of and not saved, or on blood samples collected for this study. These research tests will be used to create a "profile" of the collected specimens which will describe unique characteristics about the genes involved in a person's cancer. The tests will also help researchers look for biomarkers that may help predict how people respond to treatment. Read Less

This is a research study to determine the safety and tolerability of ATLCAR.CD30 for treating relapsed/refractory Peripheral T Cell Lymphoma. Blood samples will be collected from study participants and the immune T cells will be separated. T cells will be genetically modified in a laboratory at UNC-Chapel Hill to enable them to produce CD30 antibody. The modified T cells, called ATLCAR.CD30, will be able to target and attach to lymphoma cancer cells that carry the CD30 antigen. Once they are attached, the hope is that the T cells will attack and destroy the lymphoma cancer cells. To prepare the body for the ATLCAR.CD30 cells, participants will complete lymphodepletion with two chemotherapy agents. Lymphodepletion will happen over three days prior to ATLCAR.CD30 infusion. If participants respond to this treatment, and there are sufficient unused ATLCAR.CD 30 cells, they may be eligible to receive a second infusion. The second infusion will be given after a second lymphodepletion chemotherapy. Most of the clinic visits in this research will last between 1-8 hours. There are risks associated in participating in this research study. Risks of treatment include infection, fever, nausea, vomiting, neurotoxicity, and cytokine release syndrome which can include low blood pressure or difficulty breathing. It is hypothesized that instillation of Liothyronine Sodium (T3) into the airspace will be safe, well tolerated, and will increase alveolar fluid clearance and decrease inflammation in patients with ARDS, reflected in improved oxygenation index (OI) and oxygenation saturation index (OSI). The overall goal of this research is to help develop a new magnetic resonance (MR) method, Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM), to improve the measurement of liver iron concentrations without the need for a liver biopsy. Measurement of liver iron is important to diagnose and treat patients who have too much iron in their bodies (iron overload). Liver iron measurements by current MRI methods (R2 and R2\*) can be inaccurate because of the effects of fat, fibrosis and other abnormalities. QSM should not be affected by these factors and should be free of these errors. In this study, MRI measurements (QSM, R2 and R2\*) of iron in patients before liver transplant will be compared with chemical analysis of iron in liver explants (livers removed from patients undergoing liver transplant). The liver explants would otherwise be discarded. Investigators expect that this study will show that the new MRI method, QSM, is superior to the current MRI methods, R2 and R2\*. Read Less

This is a phase I study looking at the safety of cancer peptides combined with adjuvant and GM-CSF in subjects with estrogen receptor (ESR) positive breast cancer. The primary objective of the study is to determine the safety of of the peptide vaccine. The secondary objective is to evaluate the immune response to the vaccine. The peptides used in this vaccine are derived from the estrogen receptor and are combined with the adjuvant Montanide ISA and GM-CSF to enhance their immune response. A peptide vaccine of these peptides may improve outcomes of patients with endocrine resistant breast cancer. Read Less

Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a serious condition that occurs as a complication of medical and surgical diseases, has a mortality of \~40%, and has no known treatment other than optimization of support. Data from basic research, animal models, and retrospective studies, case series, and small prospective studies suggest that therapeutic hypothermia (TH) similar to that used for cardiac arrest may be lung protective in patients with ARDS; however, shivering is a major complication of TH, often requiring paralysis with neuromuscular blocking agents (NMBA) to control. Since the recently completed NHLBI PETAL ROSE trial showed that NMBA had no effect (good or bad) in patients with moderate to severe ARDS, the CHILL trial is designed to evaluate whether TH combined with NMBA is beneficial in patients with ARDS. This Phase IIb randomized clinical trial is funded by the Department of Defense to compare TH (core temperature 34-35°C) + NMBA for 48h vs. usual temperature management in patients in 14 clinical centers with the Clinical Coordination Center and Data Coordinating Center at University of Maryland Baltimore. Planned enrollment is 340 over \~3.5 years of the 4-year contract. COVID-19 is considered an ARDS risk-factor and patients with ARDS secondary to COVID-19 pneumonia will be eligible for enrollment. Primary outcome is 28-day ventilator-free days. Secondary outcomes include safety, physiologic measures, mortality, hospital and ICU length of stay, and serum biomarkers collected at baseline and on days 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7. Read Less
