The purpose of this study is to compare two brief interventions targeting potentially problematic cannabis use in emerging adults (ages 18-25). Brief interventions are two 40-50 minute sessions separated by 1 week. Eligible emerging adults will complete a detailed cannabis assessment (biological and self-report), followed by one of the two brief interventions, and three follow-up assessments: one immediately after the second session and at 1- and 3-months post-intervention. Assignment to the brief intervention is random. Salivary samples will be collected at baseline, post-intervention, and both follow-ups, for a total of 4 samples, to be tested for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). Read Less

The investigators are doing the research to discover genes that cause Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) specifically in the African American population. African Americans with or without Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis are eligible to join. If you agree to join the study, the investigators will ask for information about your health. The investigators will also ask you to give us a blood sample so that they may discover the genes that cause IBD. Patients with relapsed medulloblastoma, ependymoma and ATRT have a very poor prognosis whether treated with conventional chemotherapy, high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell rescue, irradiation or combinations of these modalities. Antiangiogenetic therapy has emerged as new treatment option in solid malignancies. The frequent, metronomic schedule targets both proliferating tumor cells and endothelial cells, and minimizes toxicity. In this study the investigators will evaluate the use of biweekly intravenous bevacizumab in combination with five oral drugs (thalidomide, celecoxib, fenofibrate, and alternating cycles of daily low-dose oral etoposide and cyclophosphamide), augmented with alternating courses of intrathecal etoposide and cytarabine. The aim of the study is to extend therapy options for children with recurrent or progressive medulloblastoma, ependymoma and ATRT, for whom no known curative therapy exists, by prolonging survival while maintaining good quality of life. The primary objective of the MEMMAT trial is to evaluate the activity of this multidrug antiangiogenic approach in these heavily pretreated children and young adults. Background: Influenza (flu) vaccinations are required for all NIH staff members who have direct contact with patients. COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for persons 6 months of age and older. Researchers want to learn about immunity in NIH staff members who get a flu and/or COVID-19 vaccine. Objective: To understand what happens to the body s immune system throughout the year after getting the flu and/or COVID-19 vaccine. Eligibility: Adults ages 18 and older who work at NIH and plan to get the current season s flu vaccine and/or COVID-19 vaccine. Design: Participants will not get any vaccines as part of this study. Participants will be screened with a medical history and medicine review. They will get a survey via email. It will ask about their flu and SARS-CoV-2 history and vaccinations. Participants will have 12 monthly visits at NIH. If during that year they get both flu and SARS-COV-2 vaccines, their participation will be extended. Once a month, participants will be contacted. They will discuss any new medicines, recent vaccinations, or changes in medical history. Once a month, participants will have blood drawn. Once a month, participants will have nasal sampling. A small, flat absorptive strip will be placed in the nostril to soak up mucus. Participants will press against the outside of their nostril with their finger for 1 minute. Participants may be able to collect samples at home and mail them to NIH if they are not able to visit in person. Participation will last for about 12 13 months. Read Less

This study is being done to determine the feasibility and tolerability of a novel regimen of spine stereotactic radiosurgery (SSRS). SSRS delivers high doses of radiation to tumors of the spine using precision techniques. In standard medical care, conventional SSRS is delivered in only 1 or 2 treatments. When this treatment is delivered in only 1-2 treatments, a high dose is used which can increase the side effects of treatment. This study aims to test an alternative technique of delivering SSRS over 5 treatments. By delivering the radiation therapy over multiple treatments, the dose of radiation is less per treatment. This multi-center center phase I/II study to establish the lowest possible recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D) of corticosteroids in conjunction with ruxolitinib and uhCG/EGF (a novel combination) for high-risk aGVHD. This is a single arm study designed to determine the lowest dose of corticosteroids required (toxicity endpoint) without impairing GVHD complete response or partial response (CR/PR) at day 28 when given in conjunction with uhCG/EGF and ruxolitinib. After completion of the corticosteroid dose finding, the final dose will be carried forward into a two-stage phase II extension trial to confirm safety and make a preliminary determination of efficacy of this novel drug combination for high-risk aGVHD. The strongest psychological predictor of persistent pain after surgery is anxiety before surgery. The weight of blanket a person uses overnight may alter both anxiety and pain levels. The proposed study will determine whether a heavier or lighter blanket alters presurgical anxiety or postsurgical pain in individuals undergoing a breast surgery. We will also study whether any blanket-induced changes in postsurgical pain are related to reductions in anxiety before surgery induced by the blanket. Finally, we will examine clinical and psychological factors that might explain differences in how surgical patients respond to blanket weight. This research will improve our understanding of whether blanket weight can alter anxiety before a surgery or pain after a surgery. Read Less
