Owing to the recent classification of CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder (CDD) as a unique disorder, there is a limited understanding of overall disease natural history and meaningful outcome measures. An international patient registry aimed at collecting both patient/caregiver and clinician-entered demographic, patient-reported outcome (PRO) and treatment data would benefit both the scientific and patient communities. This CDD registry will follow up to 500 patients diagnosed with CDD over several years through both the patients/caregivers and their clinicians. Initial data will be collected upon enrollment in the registry, followed by the collection of additional CDD-specific data on a bi-annual/ annual basis. No procedures will be performed as part of this registry. Clinician-entered data will be collected following standard of care visits conducted as part of patients' ongoing clinical care. Ultimately, the goal is to create a contact registry to allow patients/families to be alerted about relevant clinical trials and to collect valuable information that is accessible to the patient and scientific communities, thereby aiding and encouraging research in CDD. The purpose of this study is to validate the capacity of a reflex training system to change the size of the targeted reflex. For this, the researchers are recruiting 25 individuals with chronic incomplete SCI who have spasticity in the leg to participate in the reflex training procedure. Doctors leading this study hope to learn about the safety and effectiveness of combining medications HB-201 and HB-202 (also known as TheraT® vectors) with chemotherapy using carboplatin and paclitaxel in the beginning of the study (induction) and if combining these medications can increase tumor shrinkage after therapy and reduce the amount of radiotherapy and chemotherapy that will later be needed. In addition, the study is looking at ways to reduce side effects overall using robotic surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, or radiotherapy alone. Your participation in this research will last about 2 years. HB-201 and HB-202 are experimental (meaning the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved these drugs), and therefore they can only be given in a research study. Read Less

The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the difference in quality of life at one year postoperatively for patients undergoing incisional hernia repair with mesh versus suture repair using modern techniques. This is a prospective observational study of patients with suspected Acute Compartment Syndrome. The primary objective of this work is to determine whether intensity changes associated with the NIRST signal, reflecting oxy- and deoxy-hemaglobin and water concentrations or ICG fluorescence signal, reflecting tissue perfusion, can be associated with development of Acute Compartment Syndrome and identification of at-risk soft tissue and muscle. Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) is associated with cognitive impairment and dementia in men with prostate cancer. Pre-clinical data suggest that ADT-induced hypogonadism leads to accumulation of beta-amyloid plaques in the hippocampus, a pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Neuroimaging Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies also demonstrate that ADT decreases metabolic activity in the parietal, occipital, and prefrontal cortices. Multiple prospective cohort and population-based clinical studies have been conducted to test the association between ADT and cognitive impairment and/or dementia. Plasma biomarkers have been developed to predict brain amyloidosis, a key pathological feature of AD and a risk factor for developing dementia due to AD. The advantage of a blood-based assay is the lower cost, invasiveness, and time compared to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET)-based biomarkers. Read Less

The goal of this study is to determine whether introducing VR in the immediate post-operative period following scoliosis repair can reduce perceived pain and stress in pediatric patients and in turn ultimately decrease opioid use. Based on previous studies that have been performed in other fields of pediatrics showing a decrease in pain and stress with VR use, the investigators hypothesize that VR will significantly decrease patient's reported level of pain and stress immediately following the VR session, and that patients will require less opioids during their inpatient stay as a result.
