International CDKL5 Registry
Recruiting
Owing to the recent classification of CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder (CDD) as a unique disorder, there is a limited understanding of overall disease natural history and meaningful outcome measures. An international patient registry aimed at collecting both patient/caregiver and clinician-entered demographic, patient-reported outcome (PRO) and treatment data would benefit both the scientific and patient communities. This CDD registry will follow up to 500 patients diagnosed with CDD over several years... Read More

Operant Conditioning of Spinal Reflexes Training System--Reflex Operant Down Conditioning
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to validate the capacity of a reflex training system to change the size of the targeted reflex. For this, the researchers are recruiting 25 individuals with chronic incomplete SCI who have spasticity in the leg to participate in the reflex training procedure. The study involves approximately 45 visits with a total study duration of about 6 months.

TheraT® Vectors (Vaccines) Combined With Chemotherapy to Treat HPV16 Head and Neck Cancers
Recruiting
Doctors leading this study hope to learn about the safety and effectiveness of combining medications HB-201 and HB-202 (also known as TheraT® vectors) with chemotherapy using carboplatin and paclitaxel in the beginning of the study (induction) and if combining these medications can increase tumor shrinkage after therapy and reduce the amount of radiotherapy and chemotherapy that will later be needed. In addition, the study is looking at ways to reduce side effects overall using robotic surgery,... Read More

Suture Repair vs Mesh Repair for Incisional Hernia
Recruiting
The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the difference in quality of life at one year postoperatively for patients undergoing incisional hernia repair with mesh versus suture repair using modern techniques. The main question it aims to answer are: • Determine if primary suture repair is non-inferior to mesh repair for incisional hernias 2-6cm with respect to quality of life using the HerQLes summary score at one year postoperatively.

NIRST and ICG-based Perfusion Imaging in Acute Compartment Syndrome
Recruiting
This is a prospective observational study of patients with suspected Acute Compartment Syndrome. The primary objective of this work is to determine whether intensity changes associated with the NIRST signal, reflecting oxy- and deoxy-hemaglobin and water concentrations or ICG fluorescence signal, reflecting tissue perfusion, can be associated with development of Acute Compartment Syndrome and identification of at-risk soft tissue and muscle.

Predicting Cognitive Decline From Androgen Deprivation Therapy
Recruiting
Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) is associated with cognitive impairment and dementia in men with prostate cancer. Pre-clinical data suggest that ADT-induced hypogonadism leads to accumulation of beta-amyloid plaques in the hippocampus, a pathological hallmark of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). Neuroimaging Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies also demonstrate that ADT decreases metabolic activity in the parietal, occipital, and prefrontal cortices. Multiple prospective cohort and po... Read More

Virtual Reality's Effect on Decreasing Pain and Subsequent Opioid Use in Pediatric Patients in the Post-Operative Period Following Scoliosis Repair
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to determine whether introducing VR in the immediate post-operative period following scoliosis repair can reduce perceived pain and stress in pediatric patients and in turn ultimately decrease opioid use. Based on previous studies that have been performed in other fields of pediatrics showing a decrease in pain and stress with VR use, the investigators hypothesize that VR will significantly decrease patient's reported level of pain and stress immediately following the V...
