Feasibility of Brief Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (BBTI) in SUD Recovery
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical study is to learn whether treating sleep problems is helpful in people with substance abuse problems who are living in a residential treatment program. Another goal is to study whether treating sleep problems will help individuals stay in substance abuse recovery treatment for a greater amount of time. Participants will be asked to complete surveys at the time of enrollment and every week for the next 9 weeks for a total of 8 times. Participants will be asked to wear a... Read More

SMART Exercise for PAD
Recruiting
Supervised exercise therapy (SET), consisting of treadmill exercise conducted three times weekly at a center while supervised by healthcare personnel, is first line therapy for people disabled by lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD). However, travelling three times/week to a center for SET is burdensome. Compared to SET, home-based exercise is more accessible and less burdensome. Yet, evidence-based guidelines recommend SET over home-based exercise for PAD. Walking exercise is first l... Read More

Forecasting Seizures Using Intelligent Wearable Technology for Health Tracking
Recruiting
The goal of this interventional study is to develop a personalized seizure risk forecast tool in people with epilepsy. The main questions it aims to answer are: * can we develop a future seizure probabilities tool that is more accurate than chance based on the pattern and frequency of previous generalized tonic-clonic seizure (GTCS) events, as well as changes in physiological and behavioral variables. * does this tool improve the lives of people with epilepsy? Researchers will compare a group... Read More

Pectoralis Minor Release Versus Non-release in RSA
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to assess if concomitant open pectoralis minor release would improve pain and outcomes after Reverse Shoulder Arthroplasty (RSA). The main questions it aims to answer are: * whether releasing the pectoralis minor prophylactically could have better pain relief * whether releasing the pectoralis minor prophylactically could have increased Range of motion (ROM) outcomes * whether releasing the pectoralis minor prophylactically could have higher final Patient Repo... ENhancing Exercise with LIGHT to Improve Functioning in PAD
Recruiting
The ENLIGHTEN PAD Trial will collect preliminary data to test whether daily 660 nm light treatment of the lower extremities immediately before home-based walking exercise sessions improves six-minute walk distance at 4-month follow-up, compared to sham light, in people with lower extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD).

Manual Versus AI-Assisted Clinical Trial Screening Using Large-Language Models
Recruiting
A prospective randomized controlled trial comparing manual review and AI screening for patient eligibility determination and enrollments. A structured query will identify potentially eligible patients from the Mass General Brigham Electronic Data Warehouse (EDW), who will then be randomized into either the manual review arm or the AI-assisted review arm.

Rectal Spacers Use in Prostate Cancer Radiation Therapy
Recruiting
This prospective, 2-arm clinical trial aims to evaluate the use of rectal spacers in patients with localized prostate cancer scheduled for Proton Beam Therapy (PBT). Up to 50 subjects will be enrolled in this study. Study visits will include screening, spacer placement, treatment planning, end-of-treatment assessment, and follow-up visits at 1, 3, and 6 months.

Loss of Y Chromosome in Aortic Stenosis
Recruiting
The most common heart valve disease in humans is aortic stenosis which is a critical narrowing of the valve through which the heart has to pump blood to the rest of the body. This condition occurs in 2-3% of adults over 65 years of age and when it progresses to a severe stage leads to heart failure and need for valve replacement procedures (including surgery and catheter-based replacement). Aortic stenosis has a strong male predominance. The purpose of this study is to evaluate whether loss of Y... Read More

Identification of Phenotypic Factors That Predict Success for Weight Loss and Long-term Weight Maintenance
Recruiting
The Investigational Weight Management Clinic now entitled the Weight Management Program at the University of Michigan was created to identify strategies that will result in cost-effective, long term weight management for overweight and obese individuals. The driving hypothesis of the clinic is that the 'one size fits all' philosophy is untenable with a complex disease such as obesity. The clinic will serve as a portal for patients to choose standard clinical care or to explore alternatives from... Read More
