Children and adults with XLH recruited will be treated with calcitriol alone (without phosphate supplementation) for one year, during which the calcitriol dose will be escalated during the first 3 months of therapy. The investigators hypothesize that treatment of adults and children with XLH alone will improve serum phosphate levels and skeletal mineralization without causing an increase in kidney calcifications. PrevisEA is a noninvasive, disposable device that uses audio spectral analysis of sounds produced by the gastrointestinal tract to predict gastrointestinal impairment (GII). GII is most commonly associated with postoperative ileus (POI), but could be the result of other causes, such as early postoperative bowel obstruction. GII is defined as failure of successful early oral re-feeding in a subject undergoing major abdominal surgery. For subjects who are allowed to resume a diet during the first 24 hours after surgery, a failure to successfully orally re-feed a subject is defined as presentation with emesis, requiring a reversal of diet, or the placement of a nasogastric tube on first postoperative day or later. This study uses a noninvasive technique called transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to study how hallucinations work in schizophrenia. TMS is a noninvasive way of stimulating the brain, using a magnetic field to change activity in the brain. The magnetic field is produced by a coil that is held next to the scalp. The goal of this study is to learn about treatment of port wine birthmarks treated with an FDA-approved 532 nm laser. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How well are the treatments tolerated? * Are there differences in tolerability of the treatment when a single high fluence laser pulse is used (the standard treatment) versus using multiple low fluence pulses? * Are there differences in results when using a single high fluence pulse versus multiple low fluence pulses? type of study: Clinical Trial Participants will undergo 3 monthly laser treatments with the 532 nm DermaV laser. Part of their birthmark will be treated with the standard single-pulse high fluence approach, and other parts will be treated with the multiple-pulse low fluence approach. Read Less

Benign thyroid nodules can still create cosmetic, compressive, or hormonal issues for patients. In the past, surgery was typically used to treat thyroid nodules causing the above issues through partial or complete thyroidectomy. More recently, minimally-invasive techniques have been developed to treat these issues. This study is investigating the use of one of these techniques, radiofrequency ablation, in Latinx patients with benign symptomatic thyroid nodules. This procedure is of interest because it avoids the risks of surgery and can be done outside an operating room. The study hypothesis is that the use of RFA is an effective and safe therapeutic option for LatinX patients with a symptomatic benign nodule wishing to avoid surgery. Read Less
