Impact of Physical Therapy Intervention on Foot and Ankle Function
Recruiting
This research study will investigate the effect of physical therapy intervention on the function of the foot and ankle in children and adolescents with cancer not involving the brain or spinal cord. Children undergoing treatment for cancer can suffer from decreased flexibility, strength, balance and endurance from the cancer and from direct effects of the chemotherapy agents. These deficits have been shown to continue years after treatment end with adult survivors of cancer being less physically... Read More

Micro and Macro Circulation in Sepsis
Recruiting
Purpose: To assess the prognostic role of Handheld Vital Microscopy (HVM) and evaluate levels of endothelial glycocalyx (eGC) breakdown in patients demonstrating Hemodynamic Incoherence (HI), to elucidate a mechanistic link between the eGC and HI in order to inform prognostic enrichment of future resuscitation trials. We will serially evaluate microhemodynamics (MiH) and macro hemodynamics (maH) and the perfused boundary region (PBR, an visual proxy for eGC thickness) using HVM, and a validated... Read More

A Closed Loop, Doctor to Patient, Mobile Application for Depression in People With Multiple Sclerosis
Recruiting
The researchers want to find out if an electronic application called MS CATCH can enhance patients' and doctors' experiences during and in between clinical visits. MS CATCH is a smartphone-based tool which allows patients to enter their mood related symptoms at regular intervals, which is then available to their Neurologist in their electronic medical record. The neurologist is also able to view additional information from their medical record, and receives alerts for changes reported by the pat... Read More

Amyloidosis Incidence in High-Risk Cardiac Device Patients
Recruiting
This single-practice prospective cohort study aims to enhance the diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis in high-risk patients undergoing standard cardiac device implantation. By analyzing chest wall fat tissue, which is usually discarded, we aim to determine the diagnostic yield of such biopsies for amyloidosis and to develop a predictive screening model based on clinical, lab, and imaging data. The study, running from December 2023 to December 2024, expects to enroll 100 patients and may provide a n... Read More

The Effect of Teprotumumab on Thyroid Eye Disease and Thyroid Dysfunction
Recruiting
This protocol studies the clinical outcome of patients with active thyroid disease with visually significant signs and symptoms of proptosis, pain, diplopiam lid/orbital edema, or lid/orbital erythema recommended for treatment with teprotumumab infusion (Tepezza®). Patients recommended for treatment will be evaluated by an oculoplastic surgeon (Dr. Eva Chou) and endocrinologist (Dr. Thanh Hoang).

Expanding Fertility Care to Poor and Low Resourced Settings Study
Recruiting
The investigators currently lack an understanding of barriers to completing the male factor infertility evaluation. Furthermore, as the investigators continue to expand access to fertility treatment particularly within low-resourced settings, it is important that all aspects of infertility within a couple are equally explored. The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately affected low-income communities and communities of color at greater rates in terms of not only disease morbidity/mortality but... Read More

Evaluation of the Efficacy of Fomepizole in the Treatment of Acetaminophen Overdose
Recruiting
This study is a randomized, placebo-controlled double-blinded clinical trial of patients presenting with acetaminophen poisoning who are at increased risk of developing liver injury. With this trial the investigators are hoping to show the superiority of acetylcysteine (NAC) + fomepizole (4-MP) compared to treatment with acetylcysteine alone. The primary objective of this trial is to determine the effect of fomepizole on the severity of acute liver injury in patients with acetaminophen poisoning... Read More
