This study will test clinical and cost effectiveness of an integrated tele- and bachelor's-level counselor/coach delivered behavioral activation (BA) and fall prevention (FP) for low-income homebound older adults. The long-term objective of the proposed study is to improve access to depression treatment and fall prevention for growing numbers of low-income homebound seniors. We plan to recruit 320 low-income, racially diverse homebound seniors who are served by a home-delivered meal (HDM) program and other aging-service agencies in Central Texas. In a 4-arm, pragmatic clinical trial with randomization prior to consent, the participants in the integrated Tele-BA and FP (TBF hereafter) arm will receive 5 Tele-BA sessions and 4 in-home FP sessions. Those in the Tele-BA or FP alone arms will receive the respective intervention and 4 bimonthly telephone check-in (booster) calls, and those in the Attention Control (AC) arm will receive 5 weekly telephone check-in calls followed by 4 bimonthly follow-up calls. The American Academy of Pain Medicine has labeled pain as a "silent epidemic" due to its staggering costs to society (over $500 billion/year) and widespread prevalence (affects over 100 million Americans). Thus, it is imperative to test and validate cost-effective pain therapies. To this extent, cannabis is characterized as one of the most promising therapies to treat a wide spectrum of pain conditions. However, the clinical applicability of cannabis-based pain therapies has been limited due to lacking mechanistic characterization in human-focused studies. Of critical importance, the neural mechanisms supporting cannabis induced pain relief remain unknown. The principal aim of this study is to conduct a single group design pilot of a psychoeducational caregiver training (i.e., culturally adapted Parents Taking Action) with a group of family caregivers of young children with autism in Paraguay. The following research questions will be addressed: Research Question #1: What is the feasibility and acceptability of the intervention? Research Question #2: Do participants improve between pre and post-test on outcome measures? Parents will receive 10 weekly remote sessions on information about autism and strategies to support their child's development. This study will aim to assess the fertility status of men with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) not on disease-modifying therapies. Participants will: 1. Complete online questionnaires that will assess SMA diagnosis and disease burden, medical and surgical history, medication usage, and fertility status and perspectives. 2. Over the 3-month initial study baseline period participants will provide two separate ejaculates for semen analysis and a single determination of sperm quality using DNA fragmentation testing using home collection and subsequent shipment to a central laboratory. 3. Over the initial study baseline period of 3 months study participants will obtain a blood test to determine male reproductive hormone levels. During the 24-month study duration, participants will be requested to undergo a yearly semen analysis and complete online relevant questionnaires. Read Less
